Had my new carbon Fiber rear fender and heat shield instead and it looks awesome !

My bike came with a DP carbon fiber heat shield, and finally went to put it on tonight and it will not fit with the metal heat shield that the bike had on it.

Another reason why i asked you earlier if you were using the metal one underneath.. either way going to run the CF unit alone, and if it gets burnt up will go with the larger version i have seen, with the metal heat shield.

I told you wrong, no I don't have the stock metal heat shield under it as bike had the larger black unit when I purchased it. I have ridden about 100 miles and it hasn't burned any. I do wish I would have purchased larger version as I just purchased a termi full system. It comes with a Matt finish CF heat shield. Does anyone know if I can have it glossed and if so, where?

Love the gloss carbon. Great choice. One day when the Australian dollar gets out of banana republic territory I am going to get lots of gloss carbon to match the gloss on the Akra shield.

I think I am the most carbon fiber resistant dude on here... I love
To watch it. I'd love to put it on my bike. But I also know that I couldn't stop. That's why I won't even start...

Looks great man!

I agree with you 100% Ph1

I call those people "spec sheet racers"..They "feel" they are going faster because they put faster/expensive bits on the bike..

if you are fast,, you are fast regardless..

Those who can prove that they went faster because of Ohlins this and that, is because the stop-Gap wasn't the stock suspension.. The choke-point was their own Head..

All the expensive bits do is help rise the comfort level..The physicians (and psychologiss) call it Placebo..

Give a bone stock, BASE paginate to any of the Wera/CCS racing regulars and they will run circles around the bling-bling crowd that shows up on track days..

Ignore the spec-sheet-racers and enjoy your bike...

After 22 years of club racing, MAARC control riding and numerous track days, I can honestly say that I will probably never go faster than the Panigale Stock suspension is capable of.. if someone disagrees, they need to sign up for MotoAmerica (because they are Uber talented) or google "delusion"..

Have a great day all

Couldn't agree more. I turn faster times on my 2011 Triumph Daytona 675 with stock Showa suspension set for my weight (By me of all people) than I do on the 1199S. The only time this isn't the case is on tracks with longer straights. Eventually I'll probably move exclusively to the 1199s but for now my little 675 is a nice track weapon.

One other anecdote. An acquaintance came down from Ohio to the local track and hung out with us for the day (He's on here and a super cool guy.) His 1199 has full Bitubo suspension work and while he destroyed me on the straights my little Daytona on showa suspension kept up in the twists and even got me around him a few times....until the straight came back around.

I run the carbon fiber alone with my SSTK header. No issues here.

That gloss carbon fiber is calling.... to bad i have a fair amount of matte Cf on the bike from the previous owner..

The Dragon Lady hasn't got much carbon on her, but all of it is gloss. :D

Wait so your running the heat shield without a metal backing? Just the carbon bit and the metal tape? And it's not getting burn marks? Hmmm

I guess I'm the loner when I say I prefer matte finish- I still like the gloss just think the matte is more subtle

The Dragon Lady is running the Full Termignoni CF heat shield (glossified of course) with no metal inner and no burn marks yet, and she has been like that for a long time... :D

I am curious... Is the heat better, worse or about the same for the carbon sheilds and no metal insert?

I have never used mine with the metal insert, but I believe the metal insert will make it run a bit cooler.

I'm with you on this! Just personal preference but I prefer matte.. Not only more subtle but also lightweight and performance oriented..

Looks good though.

I'm going to throw my hat in preference with the glossy carbon crowd.
The matt carbon look has become quite trendy of late, but to my eyes it looks kinda old and faded, like it's been on the bike for many years.
OP, your new parts look great on your bike, congrats
