Hi all,

Been searching for a while. I'm trying to remove the races from the frame on my 899. I'm unable to figure out how. Has anyone done this before? I've changed many bearings, but none without the lip that is present in a traditional head tube.

Any help?

Good luck. You'll have to get a puller that grabs from the inside of the race.

It will cost you around $100 for new inserts,

Any ideas about brands of pullers that will work? I'm assuming you mean new carrier inserts are $100?

I change inserts on my R, they are in fairly tight I would guess around
0.002" interference fit, I use 1" wooden dowl dead blow mallet removed
by alternating side to side, yes I know a fancy puller would be best but I
didn't have any issues removing & installing

I'm not looking to have to change the inserts...just the races. I've ordered the Motion Pro race puller to see if that will work. I'll post here when it arrives for those others in need of this info.
