Heat Shield loose - Screws tight

Getting bike ready for 10K cross Canada trip at end of month. While checking every bolt and torque specs, the exhaust heat shield was loose of the left side. Bolt in picture is tight, but large gap between washer and heat shield. This has loosened up in last week or two.

The heat shield can move almost 1/2" on left side of bike - right side is tight.

Gap at screw on left side of bike is puzzling. Any suggestions hot to tighten this shield up?

The fibre washers burn and disintegrate, my carbon one has worn the carbon away, it has movement and on the left side it flops around slightly. Go to an exhaust shop and get heat proof washers, I think they are red, Ducati sell them individually and you nearly have to either sell a kidney or second mortgage the house for them LOL.

Looks like the rubber grommet is missing/melted. I had to replace my entire shield when I bought my (used) 1199 because the part of the shield that the grommet locks around was missing/broken so even a new grommet wouldn't solve the problem because it had nothing to lock into to prevent shield movement. Hopefully your grommet is just melted and your shield isn't missing the lip or else it'll still move around even if you replace the hardware.

I also found it easier just to remove the entire subframe to remove/replace the heat shield!

How can you guys remove the o2 sensor preferably without taking the wires / cables off?

If you undo the other end of the wires where they plug in then you can unscrew without twisting. Its more trouble though as you also have to cut off cable ties. Unless you do that there is no other way as Mr bp7178 says.

I had the same problem tight screw but rattling loose sheild, I just added regular steel washers, I spray bombed them black first though...lol. It worked fine.
