I just added the Termignoni D170 under seat exhaust and after 400 miles I can say the heat is reduced to the point that its mostly un noticeable. I have tried in the past DEI heat reflective products under the seat around the rear of the tank etc. all I can say is once you remove the big loop curling iron from under the seat your nuts will thank you. Just thought I'd share.

Ive just had a Google and looked at some pics of the Termignoni D170, very nice indeed. It would be great if you could post a few pictures up of your bike

In this pic you can see the DEI product on the tank and a similar product is under the seat which many of us do and produce modest results. Getting rid og the giant loop produced significant results reducing the heat. In my case I had to swap
swing arms to change to a pipe like this since mine was a two sided swing arm. I could ride all day now without any discomfort from heat.

Looks awesome indeed!

but hard to spend that kind of money to fix the heat issue. It should never come to this. The stock exhaust needs carbon fiber heat shielding especially in the down pipe going to the cans. I’m fairly certain this would significantly reduce the heat on the inner thighs.

Bought a 1299 and putting this pipe on it. I am selling the swingarm everything you would need but the wheel and the sprocket $750

Which subframe did you install on the 959? Did installing that subframe also help with the heat? Or was it just for weight reduction? Were you able to mount the brake light on that subframe?

I mounted a subframe off a 1299 to save weight the 899/959 use steel and the 1199/ 1299 are aluminum. This is a easy and great upgrade I fabricated a simple mount for the rear of the gas tank the rest is plug and play. Btw I have a clean one for sale. Most every heat solution is minimal except an exhaust that does away with the loop like the Termi I bought

Nice exhaust but what about the gap underneath the bike where the oem silencers supposed to sit?
Can it be coverded with a fairing or something? Now it looks like some parts have fallen off.

On my track bike there is belly pan made by Carbott. They also make insert for lower fairing to clean up look if you install under tail exhaust.
Just go to Carbot composites web page.

Yes Full six in carbon on its way

I agree that a fairing to cover the gap would finish it off nicely. As for the rest, I love all of the engineering that is on show

Nice Exhaust. exhaust insulating wrap can reduce the temperature by roughly 40-50%, and the surface temperatures can be reduced by as much as 30-percent.
