Anyone know how to turn the heated grips on ? Or does this require an additional purchase . It looks like it comes stock with them but maybe I’m mistaken .

I’ve a Streetfighter V4S and it may be the same on yours as well. There’s a button on the right side above DPL but you have to buy the heated grips as an accessory.Basically the bike is ready for accepting the heated grips accessory.

That’s what I thought . I saw the button and pushed it but nothing happened . Thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated

It is strange the Ducati forces customers to have a dealer activate heated grips on some models and doesn't provide heated grips connectors or software on others (like the V2). Do the heated grips work on the Streetfighter without the need for dealer activation (it wasn't clear to me)?

The heated grips aren’t even there ….they have to be bought separately. The wiring and button is all there but the stock grips have to be removed and heated ones go on .I assume ,once they are on ,there will be heated grip sign on the dash also displayed. Here’s the link for the accessory .

I want to add that even if you install the bike will have to go to the dealership to have them enabled. I guess depending on your relationship with your dealer will be how much they charge you.

Yeah, I have them on my XDiavel. I had to purchase them (understandable) but also had to have the dealer activate them (ridiculous). What what I don't understand is why some Ducatis have the capability (V4) while others do not (V2). And I was not clear if the V4 still requires dealer activation (after you purchase the grips, although you can do the activation first - I did).

Also, cruise control should be an option for all drive-by-wire motorcycles. My XDiavel has it but my V2 does not. Yes, I understand the intent is the track for the V2, but for those who street their bikes a cruise to relax the hands is a big win and the drive-by-wire bikes already have the ability to do this. Using a mechanical throttle stabilizer (like the Kaoko, which I have on my V2) is silly when the bike already has drive-by-wire and the code to perform cruise on other bikes in their lineup.

Anyway, just preaching to the choir, I am sure. :)

After you install the heated grips, the dealer still has to activate the feature. Having had cruise on my 1199, with Tuneboy, its a feature I miss for sure.

The activation switch for the heated grips is just above the engine kill switch button. You can see little waves indicating heat. It is not part of the default V4 build.

Please let me know if you want a picture and I will post it when my boy comes back from first service.

A buddy with SFV4s just got the heated grips done on his bike .They have to enable it through DDS system and the heated grip sign shows up on dash ..It has three levels with diff color icons showing on dash …brown, yellow, red being hottest .Each press on the heated grip button cycles through the different heat levels. He said it’s very useful feature to have on cold rides and it’s very effective as he just used it at lowest level and it was pretty cozy
