Heated Grips

Pfft, Dominos are Italian rubber ;). lol Also have them on my race bike and love them :D.

But seriously, it's annoying when the grips don't fit over that little lip on the throttle tube.

They're nice, but I am trying to avoid having brand names all over my Pani. Like the giant R&G on the mirror block offs. I will never forget showing my first Goodyear RWLs to my Uncle at 16 yrs old, and him saying, "why would you pay to adertise someone else's product?". I kept them, but good point...:D

I'm sorry I just, don't understand.....are you touring this bike? Maybe putting on some handle bars and a rear seat back? I'm sure they make some that would easily fit on this bike for you, I just don't understand why you would buy a race-bred bike made for performance and put stuff on it like that. Did you check out the Multistrada?

No offense, I just don't understand the mentality. I'm sure you can find some somewhere though.

Whats not to get. The temps drop and your hands are the first thing to get cold and who wants to wear a fat winter glove if you don't have to. I was just out on my 1199 and it was in low 40s and hell yea I would have dug some heated grips!
I will ride all winter providing the roads are clear and dry.
Not a must option but sure would be nice.

I don't think it's crazy. Did you think of trying to find out what BMW used on the S1000RR?

Get heated gloves if you need to ride it in below freezing weather. A heated vest as well, wire directly to the battery, but watch your amps!

I asked about running heated gear off the stock battery and the mechanic at my local dealership said it wouldn't be a good idea. Something about burning out the stator if i remember correctly.

CALLED IT! Damn that's huge, I hope I can just buy it by itself lol. You cut the stock grips off and did you have to use glue?

No glue - and just HAPPEN to have that wrench. No idea when/why I bought it! :D

I think Sears is the closest. Lowes and HD didn't have them. lol Yay Craftsman!

WTF would they use 12mm anyway? >.<

Trauma and TransNone13, could you please start a new threat and discuss your grip? im simply not interested.

so look like i might have to try the water myself, dont look like anyone has done this on their bike

the reason i have this post is because i want to know if anyone has ALREADY done this on the Pani, and want to know what they run into specifically. every bike is different and i need to know what i get myself into, that is what forum for: sharing your experience.

Jeeze excuse us. Have you heard of Google? It's this search engine on the I-n-t-e-r-n-e-t, one example of many:

Don't be such a crabapple. If every thread stayed exact to the main topic, we'd have 1000's of threads from spawning everytime the discussion changed a bit. This was just 2 people discussing grips, at least meeting half the original intention. If a thread isn't supplying what you want, stay out of it - this is for learning/sharing/and fun.

The level of technical knowledge pales in comparison to most people's wallets on this forum. I highly doubt ANYONE has done this, whether he had the dealer do it or not. Your best bet is find other bike installs and apply it to your own. And this is the internet, where meme's are reality.

Judging by your posts, these two internet memes are down your alley:

Buy Gerbinigs' Snow Sport gloves

I use Gerbings' snow sport gloves with rechargeable LiH batteries. They are for skiing so I use them on the hill prety much anytime it is below 32 degrees F and on the Duc when it gets below about 60 degrees F ambient. These have four levels of heat. If you use the lowest output, they will go about six hours. If you use the highest output they last an hour or less (depending how cold it is ambient).
