My name is Clint. I live in north Texas. I do not currently own a Ducati, or a motorcycle at all, but ever since the 1098 came out in '07 I new that was the next bike for me. Hopefully, I will be able to buy a Panigale later this year. I have been lurking around this site for a while just trying to get some info. I look forward to more posts and gettin to know everyone on the site.

I got suckered in by the 1098 as well

Welcome to the funny farm;)
The 1199 is the sweetest thing on this planet:)

Which version/colour are you thinking about getting?

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I will probably end up with a base model in red. I would like an S, but its a little out of my price range.

A little more info on me: I live in Wichita Falls, TX, I am 35 years old. I had a yellow 2004 GSX-R600. I put a Yoshimura full exhaust on it. It was a great bike and the sound was awesome. It was one of the only yellow gixxers in the area, but (and I think this is a big but) everywhere I looked I saw a gixxer. I also wanted a liter bike, but didn't want something that everyone else had, and didn't want another japanese bike. When Ducati came out with the 1098 I knew that was the bike for me. And I am part Italian so I figured it was meant to be. Now I just have to convince the wife...

yo zaster the 1098s really does see its age near the panigale…. does look a bit outdated …. i had the 1198s loved that baby but the 1098 i had for some reason was more of an animal like very uncontrollable

I agree, the 1199 spoiled me when it comes to ease of riding. The 1098 was somewhat of a brute but I do miss that low end torque :D

It almost felt like this

Ummm....no.

As anyone who has ridden/listened to a Duc can tell you, an i4 600 does not make an "awesome" sound. That description is reserved for 1199/1098/999/et. al. ;)

I've never heard a Duc before, nobody in my area has one. I've only listened to them on youtube which does absolutely no justice to the bike at all. I cant wait to see and hear it in person.
