I want to say thanks for having me on your awesome forum. I am new here but have been watching for a few days. I must say thanks to a true friend and hero of mine Gunny Fitz for telling me about this site and the invite at the same time. I dont have a 1198 or even a Panigale but I have a 1098 and I am always willing and looking forward to learning from a great group of guys. Other forums I have been on have been ran by one person and if you do not kiss butt you will not be welcome long. I just want to learn from others like I have learned from a real true American Hero aka Gunny. I look forward to helping anyone that I can like he helped me. This is my 6th bike so im somewhat mechanical and i am a decent rider. I look forward to learning more as far as mechanical and riding skills go. Thanks again for having me and I hope everyone has a great holiday season and lets not forget the military men and women who are fighting for the USA so we can be free and ride what and where we like to.

Hey there brother!

Wow dude, you certainly made me sound like a Medal of Honor Recipient in that Oakley!! Lol. ;)

As I told you over on "The Other Forum" this crowd is alot more receptive and educational, rather than some of the other members there who ttell you what you NEED to get for your bike - rather than "suggest" it and show n tell you what's worked out best for them ya know?

Well iI'msure some of the guys will chime in for you soon here as many of them are personal friends of mine. Don't hesitate to ask away in your "1098 section" and see what your crew is up to there man! Thanks again and keep it on one wheel Brother!!

Gunny

Ps. Just looked and for some reason I swore there was a 1098 section but guess it falls under the Superbike one for you then? Unless you wanna buy my Tri and then have your own section then! Lmfao!! ;)

Hey CMH-

Back when I worked for the US Shooting Academy in Tulsa, OK I went to a place in your City that hosts a serious Competition Shooting Event called the "Double Tap Challenge" there. Link below is for the location called "Double Tap Range"
Have you ever heard of it, or perhaps enjoy Competition Shooting? If so I know ALL the Big-Time Pro shooters in this sport!

IDPA - Club Details - Double Tap Ranch Gun Club

Thanks for welcoming "Mr Oakley into the group buddy! He's one good dude! :D

Welcome aboard Oakley. The first thing you NEED for your bike is a Gunny Fitz. Oh wait, you already got that. Maybe Ginny's Tri then?

I wish twisted. I'm just starting out in the Ducati game. I wish I could get a bike like Gunny one day but for now the 1098 works good for me.

Too funny !!!

Twisted you are TOO FUNNY my man!

Oakley hit me up over on the "Other Forum" and I convinced him to join a much better lunch of Ducati lovers over here - so yes I guess you can say he already "Got Me!" & FWIW I already tried the Tricolore approach with him but he is too much in love with his 1098 to pick up my "Bling Machine" brother :D

Also, I have yet to post the machine up anywhere as "officially" for sale. If YOU are able to get any of your High Roller buddies who want a totally hooked up Tri - I will even cut you in on the Net amount my friend!

Oakley is getting serious about Mods for his ride now so Im sure all those who own one of them here can get him pointed in the right direction for sure?
**Also - I do think we need the background story on why "Mr. Oakley" right?

Glad to hear that MR Oakley loves his 1098. That'll be a keeper and a start to his stable. Gotta keep one dry clutch Ducati in the collection.

Thanks guys, like Gunny said I was on the other site who wants to be like this site but for reasons I won't go into they will never compare. I want to learn and talk about bikes and my Buddy Gunny said one mention of the guys who make this site what it is I was here the next day. I really hope for a bike like Gunny owns one day but for now I don't enjoy commuting that much so the 1098 is a start. Glad we have diversity here and lots of people sharing knowledge hope I learn as much here as I hope to forget from the "other place".

Not to hijack the thread, but I didn't even know that was there, Gunny. I'll have to check that out. I never got into competition shooting, but I have been trying to find a new place to shoot. Thanks buddy.

CMH210 no worries about the hijack. Does your screen name stand for the Columbus airport in Columbus, Ohio. The airport code is also CMH Columbus Motor Hub is what I've been told it stands for.

No, just a coincidence. Its my initials and birthdate minus the year. 1979 :D

Hey Mark I work (and just moved from) Northern Cuba aka Miami Beach and now I'm in St Petersburg/Clearwater area. I've never been happier since I got away from Miami and the Dirty beaches. People, roads, and we'll just life in general is better on the west Coast (IMHO). You are in Florida?

The one with the 3 bikes who lives down there in FLA (As he says in his post above yours - where you ask if he's in Florida? lmao

No idea how far away you guys are, but meeting up w Mark would pay off huge dividends for you in may ways bro! As in "Getting Gear" as I mentioned before. :D
