Just to introduce my self first. My name is Wilfried and I live near Aachen, the West of Germany where Belgium, Netherlands and Germany come together at one point.
I just bought my Ducati 1299S from 2016. It´s a nice motorbike from just one preowner and I enjoy riding it very much. I alos own a 900SS silver/blue from 1978.

I hope I can share my experience with the 1299S here and get alo information about this bike.

Pleas elet me first start with a question from my side. My 1299S is colozred red/white. White on the side covering, side tank and side back seat, not like the anniversary at the frontcover. I can not find this painting on a 1299S somewhere else. So i ask myself it´s not original ore just very rare?

Hi Wilfried, welcome to THE forum!

there was never an official version of the 1299 like yours is painted in.

It is likely a vinyl wrap or painted to resemble the stripes of the Superleggerra

can you feel an edge when you slide your hand over it? You might be able to just pull it off

Viele Grüße

Phil

Welcome aboard!!

Hi nice to meet you!
I believe that livery is from the original launch of the Desmosedici. I'm not sure that graphic was never used before, but I remember it well as it was a straight up MotoGP replica for the street and one of the most beautiful bikes ever designed. The MotoGP team that year had a similar livery with a lot of sponsor graphics all over it. The Panigale is the other most beautiful bikes ever designed.
Below is American World Champion, Nicky Hayden riding the D16. Capirossi and Australian World Champion Casey Stoner, all shared this similar graphic on the Factory Team Ducati.
It's straight up gorgeous. There are a few versions of it.
