This is my introduction/story. My name is Louie and my first Duc was a 888, wish I still had it, sold it to get my 2000 996 SPS. I ride my bike to work on most nice days and I have a safe place to keep it. I am a NYC Fireman so my schedule varies, a lot of times I am coming in to work when guys are heading north for there rides. I decided to buy the Panigale as a present to my self for 911. I know is sounds crazy but I felt after 13 years I just thought it was time.
The SPS has been real good to me and hasn't let me down so I feel it's time to semi retire her. On the day of 911 I was home having a cup of coffee watching TV when the planes hit I knew my company would be going to work. I told my girlfriend I would be taking the Ducati and I left. I got to the firehouse and put the bike inside, by the time I suited up and got over to ground zero the buildings had come down. Then it started to set it in.
So I want to thank Ducati and the factory workers for making the bike for me to get to work on Sept 11.
The 1199 S is the perfect bike for me to replace the 996 SPS its got the LOOK and performance I have been looking for.
Thank you Ducati and I will always own a Ducati.
