Hi All,

I'm looking for a new helmet and i'm just wondering which manufacturer has the smallest shell size?

Best bet. Go to a cycle gear shop or somewhere to try on lids and see what fits best. All brands are different shapes and you need what is best for you.
Then, I've always gone to helmetshop.com for my best prices.

Thanks Gman,

Unfortunately i'll have to wait till i get back :(

Where abouts do you go riding?

find something that is snell rated. The new rating requires the manufacture too make a different shell size for each actual size. This is also why most helmets manufatures seem to be going to ECE. That being said Snell helmets are usually heavier than ECE helmets. The best thing to do is hit somewhere to try it on and find one that fits your head shape perfect.

Thanks Gman,

There's not much decent riding out here near the Outerbanks where I live. So when I'm not putting around locally I try to hit the track at NCCAR or the Gap a few times a year. You're probably in a better part of the state with the 1199?

My wife AND 10 year old daughter wear an X Small, my wife is in her 40's and has tried on literally dozes of helmets from different brands and found the Suomy XS to fit best

i have a suomy and they run small the spec 1r. i am a large in suomy med in everything else i love it. i also have a bell both great helmets but suomy runs small

Suomy Vandal (not sure what's its called in US and Europe) is great, small, very lightweight (if someone told you it was carbon you'd be hard pressed to disagree) and the shell is much smaller than a large Shoei or even an Arai. Not a quiet helmet but I ride with plugs so no problem there. Great fit and finish as well.

I've had it for nearly a year now and very happy with it. It's good quality and very lightweight. They're made in portugal, fit and finish is very good tho I think some of the vents are a bit finicky and perhaps fragile tho I've had no issue.

This helmet appears to run slightly larger than my sharks. additionally they give you a bunch of adhesive foam pre cut padding to custom fit the helmet.

Happy with it.
