about the automatic decompression system
Loosen plug, put it in sixth, rotate cylinder onto compression stroke (it'll hiss), take plug out, stick screwdriver in, rotate motor. Watch for the dwell at top (normally a few degrees depends on the rod ratio).
There’s also a bolt right by the oil sight glass that you take out to fit the TDC tool in, you can turn the motor over til you see the notches inside that hole and line it up that way.

how do you perform the leak test?
maybe I misunderstood you here, I thought you meant putting air flow in the plug hole and measure the loss of pressure.
