The twin is much more of an experience, its a bike that demands attention from you (and everyone else if you have an unbaffled akra) My experience is the the 4 is a slow burn but keeps getting better all the time without trying to kill you if you dont give it 100%

It’s definitely taller. I’ll find out when it arrives next month. I’ve gotten used to the narrow V twins over the years from an RC51 to to RSV1000R and the 1299S so I know the V4 will feel wider. But I want modern tech and upgrades, and not get another 1299. I considered the V2 Baylis but I want that extra power of the V4. I’ve had I4’s as well in the long ago past in a ZX10 and ZX9. So I’ll go over with the checkbook, sit on it a bit, move around some and get it, with all that considered.

The wide body V4 bikes feel (and visually seem) much wider due to the fairings, but feel every bit as nimble if not more so than the 1199/1299.

I’m sure the V4 is nimble, but at almost 60….I’m not as nimble anymore. So I’ve been doing lots of stretching to limber up. My days of 300 mile rides and two hand dunks on a 10 foot rim are over.

My track and racing days are over. I’ll stick to backroads for fun and to get away from people.

For what? I used to race WERA and CCS, enjoyed it and had fun. I suppose I could do the formula 40, but no need. Condolences not needed or wanted. So no thanks.

Youll love the V4 it's a very comfortable GT and 3 for 4 tank rides are very doable.

300 mile rides are a waste of a sportbike anyway. Trackday sessions at :20 are near heaven though.

Some people spend all their time upgrading and bickering over which doodad is better yet they have chicken strips so wide they may as well be turkeys, some track, some race and some prefer grand touring. If you prefer head over to the ...... modified forum and spend double what the bikes worth to park in your lounge- in the end WGAF?

The Pani V4 is an awesome bike for 300 mile rides

Maybe if you have the roads for those types of rides. I’d rather have a Multi for street riding but I can see that being very location dependant. We all know the modified forum is where andy goes to be nice. He saves the piss and vinegar for this board.

Keith Code called. He’s demanding a royalty check from you due to how many of your recent posts have referred to chicken strips.

Self awareness and logical consistency? Never heard of ‘em. lol

I've just swapped over to a new V4S from 2x current generation S1000RR's (2019 and 2020) both M packages with the carbon wheels etc. Never tracked or raced these K67s only earlier models. Excellent road bikes and in some ways better equipped for road use than the panigale. A quick run down on my take between the two bikes:
S1000 is very light and agile. Initial corner entry is fast as is corner transition but front end feel and feedback is missing when compared to how good the V4 is. The V4 handles just as well if not better is my eyes but needs a little more input to get there. Corner exit electronics are excellent on both bikes and the 23 model K67 also has slide control like the ducati.
I thought the bmw carbon wheels were great until I started cracking them on the type of roads I like to ride regularly. May not be an issue if you only track the bike or ride roads that are surfaced like one. I enjoy riding the mixed conditions that B roads can bring but these wheels just didn't seem to match. Currently have a bike that's been off the road for 2.5 months waiting for new front and rear. Have cracked 2 more fronts previously also granted 1 was in a crash but still.
The V4 appears to lack a little of the low - mid throttle response that the bmw shift cam engine produces. In saying that my panigale is still stock engine wise so maybe a full system will wake this up a bit.
S1000 very well appointed. Dash is excellent. Ergonomically comfy. Cruise control, heated grips etc. I had to fit the taller M seat to mine to gain more leg room and a nicer riding position (for me) but the V4 was the comfiest sport bike I've ridden in stock form. Love it. Just did a 3000km / 7 day trip on it with sfa freeway riding and it was brilliant.
New to me but not you guys is the fact the ducati feels exciting to ride. The bmw was so good at everything that it almost became boring. My partner bought a 2021 RVS4 factory and this thing along with the fact my s1000 was off the road waiting for wheels to arrive made me bite the bullet on the new V4S.
If you could own both bikes it would be a perfect world. Can't comment properly on either bike for track use. My track bikes are 2010 and 2015 model S1000's.

Trying to get the focus back to the original post :) Very nice write up! On two wheels I have limited my self to back road type rides, where I live there are plenty. My Track days were with 4 wheels as in Sports Car and I am also going to be 60 like a few others have posted on here.

I had a 2021 V4 and always wanted the V4S but gave in and traded the 2021 V4 for a Multi Strada 1260S and I LOVE that bike for its all round purpose and will keep it.

I would let to get a Pani again but not sure if I should go for a new V2 or a V4 Base, the V4S would be nice but man its such a large amount of more cash to get there....

So any downside of getting a new V4 vs a V2?

Its nice to have some company in the about to be 60s Club and still be so keen on these AMAZING machines :)

I've just spent four days on track with my 22 V4 base. And I tried a V2 Supersport spec bike on the last day.
The V2 was far easier to ride, and virtually the same lap times (the owner was 0.5s faster than his V4R). The engine was very impressive. But, the V4 is so much more exhilarating and visceral. Harder to ride, and slower for most, but you feel more alive after riding the V4 👌
