Help - Why Does My 1299 Feel So Slow?

Ducati Forum

If they're Shroedinger squirrels they'd be both dead and alive - at least until you opened the airbox and looked.

I get where you were going with that, but he never mentioned Schrödinger's squirrels, just dead squirrels......... I thought it was a cat anyways?

Bit early in the day to be discussing Quantum decoherence. Perhaps that is what's causing the OP's throttle problems?

Take to the dealer and have them test ride the bike and fix the issue. My rsv4r when I had it was so damn slow (600cc slow) when gassing the bike and would lag like crazy at certain rpms and then fire off like a rocket. They found an issue in the spark plugs not firing properly or something. Point is, there could be an issue that the dealer already knows about and can help you solve.

Either the OP is trolling. Or he figured out twisting the right grip vs the left grip brings on serious case of the smiles. Either way no response from the OP 3 pages later.

Haha the thread tags are just wrong....."1299, feel, slow. Slow and 1299 shouldn't be near one another in a sentence

I'm pretty sure it's operator error, but I could swear that my bike is anemic at best... sigh. I have 640mi on her, and two oil/filter changes, but everything is stock (well, I do have different brake levers). It really feels like a CBR250, especially from at signal or stop.

Any of yous youts "feel" that you have similar experience? Does it "free up" after 1,000 miles??

Troll.

NOLA

I'm 250lbs, and when I twist the right grip it puts a smile on my face every time. I have a moded 08 zx10r that just sets in the garage, because my 1299 is much more fun to ride. And the torque is insane! And fast as hell. My brother just bought a new 15-zx10r at the same time I bought my 1299. When we go out for rides, he is amazed how easy it is to wheely.

Hang on a minute . You can't be serious in asking this question .
We all know the 1299 is a serious bike if your bike feels like a 250 there is something wrong with it .
Take it back to where you bought it and get it fixed .

You know Wilkson I thought the same as you that the first post could not be beat, but then I got to post number 12.

Joking aside,

Have you been only revving to the red while running in i.e. the REDUCED rev range displayed on screen?

Once you've done the run in period, the display will alter going up to full rev range......... Was just a thought

To reply to this thread I had to first check out the service manual library at my local Ducati shop. I asked the tech there if he had anything related to Ducati's, Schrodinger's cat, and Pavlov's dog, in one manual.

He said it rang a bell, but wasn't sure if he had it or not.

Get your bike on a dyno when you get 1000+ miles on it. Might be a fuel setting issue or sensor problem.

Well Senna/Rossi, you are used to piloting the most insane machines to ever grace this earth. Both your F1 car and M1 will easily trounce the 1299, so it seems only logical that your street machine would feel so slow.

Haha, yes, this is the correct answer. :D

Maybe the flapper thing is shut. That and the damn charcoal thing really do my head in. Otherwise this bike always in race mode and everything turned down low is just crazy, the torque makes it so addictive.

Its the riding mode, you've got it switched to Matrix....

When all your enemies bullets have passed you by switch off Matrix mode and then the normal flow time & space will be restored.
