Hi, I could use a little advice in bike selection

Sooo, my friend came by in his 959 with full Akra, and it is modded EXACTLY how I would have done it, so naturally I fell in love.

So, here's a question. Forget about power. Thinking about comfort, position, wind, etc, are any models going to be a little more compromising for let's say, a 10 hour ride? I get that the 959 is going to be FUN, but im worried that after 2-3 hours I'll be worn out and perhaps the V4S would be a little more livable? Yeah, I know, they are all uncomfortable sport bikes, but we do some LONG rides, 10 hours of non stop corners, and some occasional straights and big high speed corners, so a little bit of comfort goes a long way.

Wow. Well for that I would not suggest a Panigale. Maybe a Multistrada would be a better fit for 8+ hours of riding. I know that is not what you were looking for, but that many hours of continuous (or in one day) of riding is not going to be fun on any Panigale (unless you mod it to no longer be a Panigale).

I've had a Triumph Tiger 800 here (I shopped for a Multistrada and the deal fell through) and it was very comfortable, but it was also very bored riding It, and still mentally drained after riding so long. I'm sure a MS is slightly more fun, but it's still not appropriate for the way I ride. A touring bike, or even a slightly upright bike, like these naked sport bikes I have, are slightly more comfortable, and I'll keep them. A touring bike though.. I'd fall asleep. So, if I'm going to be bored and tired, I'd rather be in pain and tired on a sport bike :) I prefer to tame the beast and enjoy it's challenges rather than be pampered. When I had cars in the US, I had Vipers, and drove them almost every day. Unforgiving torque, a steering wheel you must hold and fight, traction non existent, burning sides... that was fun :) I got caught drifting it sideways through a city intersection late at night and covering the police in tire smoke. They laughed and said don't get caught.

if you're riding at 100 mph+ which is easy to do on a v4 you're going to stop every 45-50 minutes to gas up your bike... and air out your left leg. I don't mind the heat on the v4s as much as some do, but after 2 hours it's pretty effing hot (two fill-ups) ... can't imagine what 4 hours would feel like

It's not so much that I'd be holding 100mph, but I'd be constantly accelerating which I suppose would make even more heat. However, I live in a tropical country, and as much as I don't like heat, I've learned to live with being baked in the sun at 15 minute traffic lights coming in and out of the city.

Hmmm, this is not like sitting in the sun. The cylinder head sits right next to your left leg and if you're stopped you're going to feel it... more like pulling something out of the oven and then resting your leg on it. The other crap that people complain about is quite bearable (tank etc get hot but nothing to write home about).

You haven't felt the heat of sitting on a motorcycle in full gear at a traffic light in thailand :) I've had bikes burn my leg. I've had riders next to me at the light get upset when the fans turn on and hit them with extra heat.

Oh, so I decided to go with a V4S, 2018, 7000KM. Buying it sight unseen, but from a reputable bike broker. It's being prepped in Bangkok and will be shipped to me shortly. :)
