All the 1199's I see posted have like 1200-2000 miles on it....anybody here have or seen any with 20k+? Curious of how much life I can expect out of mine.

LOL. AntiHero most likely has the highest mileage panigale or ducati ss/sb ever.

D post an odometer photo.

A buddy of mine has a 2012 1199S with something like 17k on it....

Had 18k km on my '12, 13k km so far on my '13 odometer at 0 because of a melted dash (new one on warranty).

I've had mine 3 months (winter months) and I've still put about 2k on mine. I'll probably have around 10k by the end of the year. Just got a little concerned since I've seen very few with more than 2k. I commute to work occasionally and that's a 60 mile round trip. Basically wondering if I should get a cheaper jap bike to commute on and keep the Duc prestine.

My memory is hazy but didn't antihero fry a piston or something at around 30k?

ETA: I have ~7k on mine

Yes because one of the dealerships didn't put the gas tank on properly so the air box wasn't sealing properly, allowing debris in I think. Got fixed under warranty, but he traded it in because he was having a high idle issue that ducati couldn't resolve. I'm actually wondering if he ever found out what the issue was and if his old bike got fixed.

I'm sure he'll chime in soon.

I'm sure Dennis will easily have the highest mileage.

I have 13,056 miles on my '13 R over 20 months of riding. About 5,000 of those are track miles.

No significant problems so far.

Steve

Have 15k on mine now ('12 1199 base) after 2 years. Just had 15k mile service done a couple weeks back. Waiting for warm weather. I suspect I'll be well over 20k by the time this summer is over.

I also have a high idle issue in 1st gear. It sometimes forces me to go up to second gear to drop my speed when riding in heavy traffic. I have 20 000 + km's on the Dragon Lady.

Ditto, or almost, on my '12. Due for the 15K mi service in 300 miles. No major issues to date, just the common left switch/dash issue that was sorted completely with the external relay fix Ducati came up with. Got extended warranty just in case; hope not to need it.

I did not get access to that fix due to the treacherous unilateral take over of Porsche SA of the South African Ducati franchise from all the independent dealers (Ducati Edenvale, Ducati Sandton, Ultimate Performance etc) in which most of us lost our service plans/warrantees.

..just over 15k miles on my 2013R - service was "all encompassing" aka "needed clutch" :)

wow 5000 track miles!!! That's awesome! I only do about 5 sessions in a track day so about 100 miles per track day. It'll take me a while to reach that amount of seat time.

Broke the 15K barrier on my '14 S. Service just done and away we go, she rides again.
The service is really comprehensive and all updates and bulletins applied. Bike feels brand new again.

Isn't there a Ducati dealer here that would send me the fix for the left hand switch? I would pay shipping. Zoki of Ducati Johannesburg refused to do my bike because I had her repaired by a non franchised dealer and besides I would rather die than do business with Ducati Johannesburg (Ducati South Africa).

Cost? Heard the 15k is a doozy.

I went to a superquadro seminar and while the Master Tech took the motor apart, he was explaining the engineering behind it. I can't tell you how much confident I have in this motor, most of the faults in old Ducati's has either been eliminated or redesigned.

Kyle Thompson - A very skilled master tech worked on a lot of Ducati's and seen a lot of problems over the years and he even said I haven't see any reliability issues with this motor. The amount of oil supplied to cool this engine is insane, tons of ports, jets and little gadget that serve a function.

Here are some pics I took during the seminar.

It is going to be costly. They service everything. The tools they use are costly, unless you want to save some money and bring it to a regular bike shop, they aren't going to service it correctly. Everything is about precision, tolerance and care. I wouldn't cheap out on anything. I knew what I was getting myself into at the beginning. Or else I wouldn't of bought a Ducati.
