Yep, the SL's tail is fully CF and different in design than the other Pani's. Mounting sections for BBS and number plate holder are compatible with the other 1199s.

It's possible the replace the alu subframe with the SL's CF tail, but will cost you a fortune! :( :(

Agreed.

Thank you.

Something to ask Jarel to see exactly how much it would be. No parts diagram for the SL that I could find to try to get the price out of their online application...

ahh, I forgot to say....
SL tail is monoposto, no mounting points for passenger foot pegs. And the akra's CF heat shield is directly screwed to the tail.

My wife would be happy... no chance to give a ride to a hot babe on the back seat :D

Seriously, would be great to find out the cost for the factory part. I will see if Jarel can find that out for us.

The SL rear sub is $6,500.00 USD. And like others have stated, it's not a direct bolt up to non SL variants. It can be done, but would add even more cost to retrofitting. I love me some carbon, but that mod seems a bit off the chart in the price department for my priority list. I hope someone does it though! :D

Yikes! OK... no soup for me... back to my cave.

Did anyone see this:

Ducati 1199 Panigale Carbon Fiber Tank Pad, 100%

It's a tank pad. Anyone have any experience with this. I would much rather have this, then a normal tank pad.

I know taste is personal, but I think this would ruin the lines of your SL. May I recommend XPEL Paint Protection Film (PPF)? I have it done on my bike including the tank and it is virtually invisible and self-healing if it does get damaged. The tank covering piece is not quite as big as the carbon piece above but does protect a large area while letting the gorgeous paint shine through.

I don't have a shot of my tank but here are other shots from specific angles to intentionally show the edges of the film. From 5 feet away they are nearly impossible to see, plus you can wax over it with no issues.
