Home made throttle slop fix

update on this crazy idea....

I just went to have a look at my throttle for a fix I intended on doing and had a look at how the action works....that gap pictured does not get any bigger, the to black bits where the wedge is placed move together once the slop is taken up....I don't think this fact has been clarified....so, it's not a bad option at all.

for those that are still "conservative" another idea is adhesive lined thin heat shrink shrunk over that same spots as the Ducati Omaha solution;)

Did mine yesterday. Great idea Krikat took me less than 10 mins to do. Longest part was trying to find some plastic lying around in the garage. Physically it has nowhere to go but stay wedged in there.

I did this before today's run. I like the way it feels over the stock sloppy throttle.

I only ran mine with the 195hi setting, does this help take some of the niggles of the 195lo, for those that have tried it?

So who has Jarel's kit and how does it feel compared to stock?

I fitted this to my bike a couple of weeks ago. The packet has been sitting on my workbench for quite a while. I ordered last year at a bad time when they ran out of stock and it took about 3 months to get them.

Anyway I went for a ride last week and found it pretty good. I thought it may be too senistive over bumps but it was okay. I did notice a difference in the perceived sensitivity of the throttle. I loosened up my grip and that improved it.

I think it is a definite improvement over stock. It would be great on the racetrack I think. If you do not like it you can remove it easily and it is only $70 to buy. You could probably resell on here. Takes 5 minutes to fit and it takes a No 3 Tri Wing to get the throttle open.

Is the spacer kit available as a genuine DP accessorie? Being as Dicati Omaha sell it, I couldn't find it anywhere on the Ducati site

but isn't the genuine Ducati accessory like $70?? I bought the kit on eBay for $30. I had originally come up with the same solution - wedge plastic in there and superglue it in place. Much depends on skill of crafting the wedge and successfully gluing it in place, after cleaning the surface of grease.

My gluing failed, although the wedge more or less stayed in place. I'm glad I got the kit. Peace of mind, ya know?
