I'm sure ya'll remember how the factory tail looked when you first got your Duc. Instead of spending buku $$$ on an aftermarket tail, I decided to use what came on the bike and make something custom. Lemme know what ya'll think. I have tested the suspension on some bumpy roads and the plate doesn't make contact with the fender. Now I just need to pick up an integrated tail light (c'mon Moto Dynamics!!). Being able to use the factory LED license plate light was money! See the pics below.

And whats left over...

Nice work

Thanks Dave.

nice! got some more details on the cuts and type of glue, etc.?

thanks!

No glue used Phil. Just ground it down and the used two steel spacers to compensate for the height of the LED light mounting area. Use the existing hole for the passenger rear pegs as the mount point. The pic above that shows the leftover pieces, the "W" shaped piece was the big chunk that was shaved off.

You have a massive hole in your undertail... You're keeping it like that?

I would like to get one of the carbon pieces without the hole that I see some guys have. If not that, Ducati has a block off plug that bolts on there.

Looks great Yaadman! Reminds me of a McGuyver episode...

Any issues with heat from the exhaust being so close?

I've run the bike pretty hot and the plastic seems to be holding up well. Its pretty dense and heavy duty stuff.

Nice. What about signals in the rear tail vents?

I wouldn't suggest that for the 1199, i had it on the 848evo, but it was meshed up, so wiring was hidden etc etc.

The 1199 best is to get them integrated tail lights.
