Here's another. I'm using a van I got cheap with the pit bull system, but I bought an extra mounting plate so I can use the system in another trailer. The extra plate is very inexpensive.

this is fantastic idea! i assume it require some drilling/mounting to the floor?
thanks

this may be a stupid question but how do you get the bike in the van. how do you get it up there. also as the other person said do you have to drill into the van?

Pit bull system is the only way to go IMO. There was a previous thread of a blown fork seal from tie downs. I have a dual axle, 8x10 trailer.

He does it carefully. I used to put my 916 in the van using two 2x12 planks I only had to remove screen and tilt a slight angle to get in.

Yeah its just 4 bolts. Very easy to install. There is a .5" plywood floor in the van with a rubber floor. But most trailers have a wood floor which is plenty think. I have a folding ramp so I just push it up my self and it catches the latches. its super easy. No fussing with straps that pull on your grips.

Solid

One of these in back of the pickup is perfect and wont move an inch!
This thing is so sturdy you dont even need tie downs (however they should always be used in case of a sharp corner on road!)

I use the trailer which has two of these nailed to floor, or throw one in back of truck for quicker short hauls. Best investment out there for all around use!

Baxley Trailer Company chock

Oh, also use this ramp to get it in truck. Folding 12' heavy duty, grip tape surfaced ramp.
Best customer service co who even donated it to me due to disabilities!!

The Pit Bull is the way to go you will never use anything else again, super easy to install and use, the plate that attaches to the trailer/truck floor is held down by four bolts that have top hat washer that the side locks attach to, when not in use these side chocks can be removed then all that is left is the base plate and the four slightly raised top hat washers. Genius concept!!
We had blown seals after the trip to Deals gap two years ago using tie down straps we went to Virginia this year with the pit-bull restraints there was no problem no tie downs required!

I built my own, but pitbull restraints are really the only way to go. no straps, incredibly secure. Allowing the suspension of the bike to be free also makes the trailer or truck ride smoother as the bike suspension soaks up the bumps too.Never a rub mark from a poorly placed strap either. My favorite part thou is how fast the bike loads and unloads.

The Pit Bull axle-mounted system is definitely nice, similar to the Strapless Transport stands we've been using in our trailer for over 5 years now without a single problem. For our use, I prefer the Strapless stand because it's quicker/simpler than the Pit Bull setup, but a lot of people prefer the Pit Bull because it's easier for a single person to do. Either are light years better than using straps.

You can see the difference between them here:

Folding Motorcycle Ramps
+1 on the Baxley. I use the Condor as it's even a tad sturdier but you can't go wrong on either.

I get 2 nice aluminum ramps and load right in the back of my pickup, with the use of some awesome straps! sorry picked it up in the dark last week.

single aluminum ramp and a milk crate as 1/2 way point between the bed of the van and the ground.

i must say, that i don't really dig on the way canon dancers put so much stress on the clip ons / grips, and would like a better system like the ones mentioned above.

i like a truck don't get me wrong, but i've put more motorcycles, broken down.. crashed, craigslist, track days, parts, etc in this van and other vans. lower than trucks, easier in and out, can change in em, sleep in em and no sweat on weather or have to have something in tow. built my own wedge w/ eyelets for tie downs w/ a canon dancer.
