Anybody find anything that takes the grease off of the wheels that gets flung on there from the chain ? Need something " paint safe " that'll take all the gunk off.

I wipe my whole bike including underneath and pipes with "bug and tar remover" then hand wash like normal...safe for whole bike

i use petroleum normally used in laterns.
easy to handle, take away all the grease, cheep and less agressive as most chemical stuff. only thing is the smell. therefore i use gloves for cleaning.

s100 wheel cleaner and/or WD40

plus wd40 to get the original crap off the chain and then only profi dry lube on it, that i don't have to clean the wheel any more

WD40....Just spray it on a toothbrush and you can get in all the hard to get places and removes chain lube splatter no worries.

We've got a hosepipe ban in London at the moment so I bought a product called Vulcanet today.....you get 80 wipes and a microfibre polishing cloth in a tube, enough wipes for about 30 full cleans of the bike. No need for water.

Tried it today, took 20 minutes to do the whole bike and everything looks literally brand new including the wheels. Awesome stuff. The dealer I bought it from uses it for their showroom bikes.

I tried S100, simple green and bug & tar remover with no luck. WD40 worked like a charm.

Any kind if degreaser will do. You should be able to buy it at your local hardware store. A can should cost a few dollars.

Just spray it on and wipe it off with paper towel or toilet paper. Works where ever there is grease.

Pro Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish It essentially a complete detailer in a can.

Every time I ride my Ducatis it is a privilege, when I return, I clean the bike with Pro Honda spray, it keeps them in showroom condition and if any thing is wrong I can spot it immediately.

Spray foam on anything except rubber, wipe it off with paper towel and polish with a clean towel. It works great on grime, grease and bugs without water.

Best of luck

+1. Also works great on windshields and helmets where serious bug splatter removal is necessary.

The write up reads like a beauty but none of the links to find the stuff work.

Anyone know an Internet or Aussie supplier? I'll use it for cars, bikes and pushbikes

WARNING - Do not use degreaser on screen. I used some on my HP tinted screen for my beemer to remove some bugs and all it did was burn. I read side of spray can, it said ok on plastics so proceeded to clean...not noting the small writing at bottom not suitable for screen :(..... My lesson make sure you read all the instructions.

Never thought to use WD40 as a degreaser. No issues with it clouding the paint ? Sounds like a plan to me. Thanks !
