How do you test if the immoblizer antenna is working on a Panigale 1199 ?

Hi, Just wondering if there is a way to test if the immobilizer is defective ? Long story short, someone attempted to steal by bike and destroyed the ignition assembly. I bought a new lock assy from ebay for the 2012 model and when plugged it, there is no power to the bike... However when I plug in the old immoblizer antenna (which the plastics are broken) the bike turns on.

How can I verify if the new immobilizer isn't a bad one ? The part numbers match. Maybe the software version might be different ?

I thought these were plug and play and a quite of few posts suggested that..

Pics of the broken immobilizer and lock assy vs new.

im guessing its coded to the key and also something to do with your dash.
Hmm, I thought that the key code was only for the previous generation models but for the panigale models the key is coded to the immobilizer not the dash or ECU.
Thanks for the link I'll send them a message and see what they suggest.

Smh, Almost $500 in repairs and counting. Ugh.

And you thought you were bummed when I pointed out that bracket was bent : )

The dash or ecu must be programmed to the key cuz even if you were to buy a jet prime or ducbike key delete ya still gotta put the factory key in their key box so something besides the immobilizer sees it cuz there is no ignition on the bike at that point

Sick link Halo

That's true. I called the dealer and he basically said something on the lines of the bikes VIN is programmed into the immobilizer and I would have to buy a brand new one from them. They can't program the one I have...

Side note, any idea what this material over the chip is ? The plastic for the immobilizer is cracked but if I can transfer the chip to the new one I might be good. The bike turns on with the old immobilizer.

Then how does the ducabike/jet prime stuff work?

Sounds backwards

Their system works with just the key being present

Did you talk to ecu Meister?

I just looked at the jet prime install video looks like all they need is the immobilizer/antenna and the bike key. It just gets rid of the heavy lock.

I've emailed ecu meister. I'll post an update once I get an answer.

The 2012 to 2014 immobilizers are not compatible to the 2015 to 2017 bikes so have to make sure you check your year note the part number and if tracking a used one down it has to match or bike won't even power up.

The Jet Prime uses the immobilizer and one key. The oem key switch goes bye bye so all plug n play. Problem is make sure you get the latest rev as it has the harness forntje for the cold shutdown after bike is turned off. Another inconvenience is the keybox has to live up in front of the tank gets tight. I made a extension harness so it lives in the tail so its more accessible.
