Okay guys, I’m wanting to know what is your best recommendation for purchasing a bike that you are not able to see with your own two eyes. I’m looking at a used 2017 Panigale 1299 buts its to far away from where I live to go check it out. I’m looking for specific instructions please. Meaning how to handle the transaction and shipping. Or should I not go that route and find something more local? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn’t buy it unless u fly out there with an envelope full of cash and thoroughly inspect it.

I bought my 1299 second hand and had the original owner meet me at Ducati. The dealership took care of everything including mounting my new plate.
I was able to negotiate the price down a little because of some small cosmetic imperfections. Bike only had 1,800 miles on it.

What bike r u looking at, where is it located and where r u located? I have some great motorcycle shippers

U know the potential also risks of not seeing it first hand

i say make the drive. i drove from Baltimore Maryland to Milwaukee Wisconsin 13hrs each way. it was for a heck of a deal. fun road trip. borrowed a buddies pick up, left around 10pm, drove all night with my dad, when i couldnt drive any more he drove. i slept. met up with the guy, test rode the bike, threw it on back of truck and turned around and drove home. round trip whole thing took us like 32 hours. cool story and road trip.

yeah man make the trip, 9 hrs isn’t bad

What’s the price and does it have the Akrapovic exhaust or clear clutch installed?

Omg drive down there with 14k in pocket and offer 13k or less
NADA black black value is between 10-12

you can even set it up with my movers Chad and Tracey from Churchtown Movers, they’re Florida based

It’s a 2015 1299S with lots of goodies. I’m not ready to part with it for what it’s worth

after I test drive a new V4 Panigale I’ll make up my mind whether to keep 1299 or not

here’s a 2016 1299S listing:

Definitely look before you buy. I know a guy who purchased sight unseen. We told him to go and look at it. He got pictures and the dealer responded to all his emails. It was all lies. The pictures were doctored and the replies were lies. He was given a lemon and it was not a good result for him.

Don’t let your emotions get involved and keep a level head. If you do purchase preowned, run your hands along the outside edges/corners or the mirrors, pegs, levers, exhaust tips, etc. If there’s only one key, and he tells you he lost the other, it’s probably a salvage bike.

Good Luck.

If it’s Ducati Miami or the Dealer that owns Pureducati.com, stay away.

Ducati Miami tried to sell me a 996 Monoposto and state you can ride a passenger on it; while the monos come with an aluminum frame.

The dealer in Pompano’s answer to ever question I asked was, “I’m not sure. I’ll have to check and get back to you.” There was also no exemplary client service, and I’m big on that; especially when making such an amazing purchase as a Duc.
