I took my bike for a spin without the fairings on when I fitted the Akra.

I did that so I could check for loose bolts etc. Nothing came loose.

But what I also found was there was no heat coming off under my right thigh. Temp ran at about 70 deg C. Normally about 85.

Solution was there all along. For those that do not like the heat start removing those fairings. :D

Nice!!! I might have to try that out when the summer heat rolls in.

Only took 4 years for someone to figure out.

I think anything to open these bikes up for breathing helps with the heat. I won't be drilling speed holes into the fairings anytime soon, but I did remove a few of the covers ala 2012 bikes. Been running the bike without the carbon heat shield too. This does nothing to reduce heat

Brad it took you a while to post that pic of it was taken in 2014 :D

LOL. I am pretty sure I posted it back then.
I did a bit of a write up of my fitting experience and also my thoughts when I rode it.

I even did a before and after sound meter check at idle and 5000.

I found the pipes a lot louder and a lot lighter
But did not find any power difference when riding.

Just recycling an old photo. Good to see someone picked up the date stamp

New to Ducati. The 1299 was pretty hot coming off the Honda. CDT carbon subframe, Akra shield, no engine covers. Heat is virtually gone.
