... installed today, and the dealer told me they will take longer than 6 pm, so i'm gonna keep this one for tonite:
first of all i was lucky not to get the pink vespa... second, the dealer knows and trusts me, they also know my riding. (so i should have got the vespa)
Impressions:
- bike is <1000 miles, so the rev limiter kicks in at 8500 rpm :moan:
- until then, it is very smooth, the sound is quite nice for an I4 (didn't have to wear earplugs)
- gearbox and especially quickshifter are really smooth (QS at low rpm and low load no problem)
- steering is very intuitive and easy, bike falls into corners (and i say that having a pilot cup VB in the front on the duc)
- brakes are up to par
- seating position is kinda weird in the beginning but more comfy than the 1199 in the long run i think. you sit lower and more integrated
- higherfrequency vibration on the bars
- so far the motor pulled nice, i am a little pissed not having the key to the fireworks room, but there will be another time...
- high speed corners can be taken in confidence
- dash is old skool
- tank is not too wide, gives you good grip to hold on to and sit upright, to take off weight from wrists
- sound is aggressive, you (i) want to revvv it all the time
- shift flash light is cool
so after all, if i was in the market, was not a 2-cyl enthusiast and had to decide for the bang for the buck i would go with the beemer.
i really like it.
but i don't love it.
end of story.
Yeah, yeah. What we want to know - how hot was it? Would it melt Frosty's nether regions or just a mild heat?

Come on, dude, that's bad even for you. I'll buy you a maple donut if you delete it.
