I Finally Got the Call

My original order was for an S no ABS, which ended up being the first bike to be delivered to the dealership and was used as the launch bike. On the day of the launch I went to get the bike sag set up for my weight so it would be ready for me to ride away after the launch was done.

My dealer had an open Tri order which the original buyer had backed out on. I flipped the dealer a discounted offer on the Tri and they did it. My Tri arrived the next week.

Dealers know, the price point on the Tri makes it a tougher sell, so if you like it more, I'd flip the dealer an offer. The worst that can happen is that they say no, and you ride away on the S instead.

Just picked up my Base ABS yesterday from dealer in Rhode Island - as far as I know, this is the only Base ABS on the road in RI and MA.

Just got a call from the dealer that the initially ordered Base ABS will come in next week. I will go for it and spend the 5 grand on lighter wheels and an old enduro to teach the wife riding...

Excellent news. I've been thinking of doing the same for my wife. I need something she can drop without damaging too bad. And frankly, I'd like something to take out on the dirt too.

Back when I got my 99 996S, ducs came shipped in a crate with large plywood panels and the DUCATI name and logo in large letters. Had that hanging in my garage for years.

Just received an email that my dealership received a base (no ABS) and Im up next ... having the TERMIS slip-ON installed due to pick up Saturday morning ... Finally!! Its ON!!!

Yes, the bike was actually pre-ordered by someone else but he is military and forward deployed and wont be back until October so Boom!!! I was next in line.
