1. I don't have money.. of course..

2. I had lots of trouble with 1199s when I got a 1199s just like other owners. For example, the function key, dash board, fairing, oil leak, etc...

So I would wait and buy it in 2016 or so...

The 1199 was ground up new back in 2012.

I hardly think that 87cc and some new electronics will impact what is now a pretty mature package.

I think some people just had bad luck. My early 2012 build 1199S has been trouble free except for the indicator/flasher wire fix and a reflash of the gear position sensor. Otherwise all good. Glad I did not wait to buy it, would have been a big waste of time.

I say just buy it mate and enjoy it. If something breaks get it fixed and get on with life.

Agree with Brad,Nothing but a display replacement on my early 12S. 8500 miles

I've done that before and regretted doing it everytime. I refuse to wait again. Also this isn't a complete model change its a model improvement. Don't think there will be any major issues.

Agreed, a '12 Tri, '13 base, and '14 R all completely trouble free. The tri had the melting fairing issue with the full system that was warrantied.

And I never win squat when I buy a lottery ticket.

Well the real question is, how long would it take to get a 1299 after the first wave (deposit people)? 2? 5? 10 months?

Thank god I read this post . Now my dilemma is solved .

The last days of old technology are always greater than the first days of new technology.

By 2014, all of the niggles were worked out of the 1199.

I'd wait a bit to get the 1299, if I already had an 1199.

Either way, the 1299 is a tick improvement over the 1199. The follower to the 1299 will be the tock to that tick, and will be the bigger jump.

Well the new Ohlins Active Suspension may have a few bugs since it's brand for the S. Sure it wouldn't be a problem though. I am just keeping my '14 til late next year when there will some '15 Ss on Craigslist haha.
