If I had $150k

Aprilia RSV4 Factory Apx | eBay

Seriously a damn APE WSBK through and through. If I had it I'd buy it!

Interesting. No back story so I'm curious to learn more. One thing that seems short changed is forged aluminum wheels instead of forged magnesium. No spares or anything else either?

Don't really know more on the bike. I messaged them for more background on it. Like why was it built etc. I'd still slam $150k if I had it.

They must be on drugs with that price . I have a mate with a WSBK S 1000 RR he will be struggling to get 30K .

WSBK mandated Aluminium rims a few years ago. Season after that epic Ducati wheel failure. Forks aren't the same as they were running though.
Looking at the other items he's selling doesn't give me much confidence in this one.

Edit: Just occured to me that you can actually order bikes from Aprilia's factory racing division, up to and including full WSBK spec. It's within the realm of possiblity that this was custom ordered directly from them. Don't have a link to one handy, but the parts list and ordering information has been posted on AF1 before. That would explain the subtle differnces between this and one they actually used for racing. The customer can spec whatever they want.

Shaka that's true. You can actually order the Factory WSBK too from them which is amazing. So the price tag would explain the huge price as that's probably not too far off from what they paid for it.

Mods sorry for posting in the wrong spot. I thought since it was an ebay auction it went there.

Yeah, considering a Grave's spec R1 was $150,000 from them last year (It's no longer on their website with the new model coming out), it's really not that far off considering the spec.

Nope a lot closer than the Corse model Ducati sells for 90k euros or something and if I paid 150k for either the yammer and this, it would damn sure be the APE.

I would rather spend $30k on a legit moto2 bike:

Other Makes Moriwaki MD600 | eBay

This has been up for awhile. I'm sure there has to be some wiggle room. I've been silly enough to consider it. Funny thing is, I was in Spain/Ibiza earlier this year and the wife and I are thinking about relocating there. I'm thinking this could be waiting for me...

In my opinion Thats $70k Overpriced. even if the WSBK Heads for rsv4 are £25k.
(Makes the 1199 kit engines seem a steal at £25k for complete engine.)

You missed 2 REAL Bargains when Team Splitlath sold both of there 2010 ex wsbk rsv4 for £30k the pair on ebay this year.

They had m180 motec ecu, motec loom, motec dash, fgr100 gas forks, brembo monobloc wsbk calipers++++++++

Australian buyer bought both, without question and paid straightaway, later arranging shipping/delivery.

They also sold one of there tricked up superstockers for £7500 on bids, no reserve.

Holy crap that is a helluva deal. Hopefully if he plans to track them he knows a good shop with the right experience to do the maintenance. Those motors supposedly were torn down after every race. A guy I know at RapidBike Italy told me that when Max Biaggi won the SBK Championship he used over 40 motors that season

woooooo. that's a deal and a half. I cant blame him for snagging them.

Jeff but would the average rider have to rebuild them that often? I doubt it. I mean that's a WSBK pace can the average guy match that. Still you better have a true master mechanic for those bikes.

Revving the motor is revving the motor. Even if the guy was a beginner-class rider at track days, if you do all 6 sessions in a day, you've gone much further than a WSBK racer does on Sunday in 2 races.

Well then sucks to be him if he doesn't have a good mechanic lol.

$150K?

With that kind of money i would build one from scratch and save some money...

This was true. Kawasaki did the same. It was thought that the new engine rules were going to be a problem for them. Turns out it was more of a precautionary thing and they were just tearing them down because it was allowed and they had the budget to make sure they never had any mechanicals. Aprilia actually said they gained a little power making a few small changes for reliability for last season.

Still, good luck getting that thing rebuilt to spec without sending it back to Italy and waiting a few months. I doubt anyone outside of Noale knows that motor well enough, and there aren't a lot of readily available sources for the parts. I would guess that once the current motors expire, they will just be rebuilt to a lower spec. However, those bikes were worth it just in chassis and electronic parts at that price.

That's a lot of money for a bike. I'd build a small airplane with that money:))
