I'm Back!! and the 1299 riding position is different

Just confirmed my 1299S for $26700 (including taxes)... Will post pics this weekend.

I test rode the 1299 and I can very much so tell the seating/riding position is drastically different from the 1199. The 1299 has you sitting higher up and more forward putting more pressure on my wrist, whereas the 1199 has you sitting more "in" the bike.
I prefer the riding position of the 1199 so the dealer is getting a 1199 stock seat to put on my 1299.

I'll have to get the seat re-upholstered "again" and add a little more cushion for my a$$ because the 1199 seat is a slippery brick.
 
I have a '14 Base 1199 and the race did me wonders. I love it. Have yet to sit or ride a 1299. I'll try it soon.

I'm 5'8" with somewhat long arms for my height so the riding position may be quite different for my build. Both the Race and comfort seats had my wrists hurting.
 
I understand. I am 6'2" 215lbs. and everything is good on me except my wrist. They have a lot of weight on them. However it is much easier at speed. Say 70 mph on the road.

My hands would get tingly on any ride over 15mi. Cure for that was TuneBoy cruise control. Has worked wonders! Btw.
 
How is it different ? The only different from the 1199 to the 1299 is possibly the seat .
Everything else is the same .
 
Thicker seat , different fork & swingarm positions that's it , 1299 feels more user friendly to me , 1199 wasn't to bad either , anyways both bikes more user friendly than the bimmer
 
I sit closer to the tank on the 1299 so the riding position almost feels upright. For street riding I find that to be excellent.

If don't have a big ......., and are interested in the possibility of obtaining one...
 
i was just inquiring only because the primordial "big ......." could be related to his 1299
comfort issues, i really wasn't trying to offend him. Usually when someone complains about comfort , sometimes, not always, it could be related to their own body limitations..
 
Complains about comfort but has huge ape hangers on Harley.

I've had a Harley so I'm don't judging you based on ownership.
 
I feel more on top of the 1299, and completely stuck inside the BMW S1000RR. 1299 is far more confidence inspiring in turns because I can move more quickly around the thing.
 
Congrats on the 1299...treat her well and stare at her like I do. Pretty cheap for artwork that doubles as thee worlds finest sportbike.
