A puff piece for VAG. This is typical JIT (just in time) manufacturing. I would argue that the reliability has been not improved. The only thing I see different is parts pricing. If I were the manufacturing guy and only 92% of the product went across production without an error I'd fall on my sword. I feel sorry for Claudio since I have also worked for the germans (and the japanese). Better to ask for forgiveness than permission with either. Germans over analyse and the japanese simply can't make a decision.
