Installed the NRC fender eliminator

I did it a bit different. The washer and but are below the rubber. TOTAL pain in the ass.

But, looks nice.

I also sanded and polished the plexi-glass sections. Why they don't cast them out of a clear acrylic instead of machining them is beyond me...

JDBeretta, I have both the bikes you have in your avatar! Unfortunately, my son isn't ready for his Ducati quite yet.

When I was at the dealership, my son would not let that bike go. And then he proceeded to ride through the gear section and knock over a brand new helmet... So I got a POS Icon helmet as well.

What's another few hundred $ on almost $30k? [emoji23]

Agreed 110%.

Do you remember what grits you used? I'd love to do that.

One of my favorite kits. I hear the new kits have plugs attached? I had to cut wires to install mine last year.

Started with 320, then 400, then 1000 and finally 1500. All wet. You have to do the inside of the lens too, just wrap the sandpaper around an allen wrench. Polish it out with some of that haze remover they make for headlights.

When doing the flat outside edges, lay your paper on a flat surface and rub rub rub.

The LED strips are just hot glued in place. If you can't pick it out easily, apply some heat. A hair dryer or even hot water will do the trick.

so you first removed the entire strip, then pried the lenses off?

the rough finish of the lens does wonders in offending my OCD :p

with the lens cleared, would you say the LEDs appear any brighter?

When you remove the phillips head screws, the plastic "lens" comes off of the triangular black metal plate. From there, you need to remove the LED strips which are hot glued into the plastic. There is a channel machined into the plastic where the LED strip rests.

I would say they appear brighter. I hear you about OCD. I even did the license plate light. ;)

I fitted the DP tail yesterday after returning the NRC (also added DP LED turn signals too).

I have to say I'm not entirely happy with the DP tidy either, especially for the price. It only has a carbon fiber cap and the rest is aluminum, it doesn't fit together very well or very simply and most of all I don't like the angle of the plate or the plate light (plate light shines rearward rather than down).

All I want is an unobtrusive, well made tail tidy which looks stock and gives good turn signal separation. Is that so hard?

I came across a carbon fiber one which resembled a scaled down version of the stock fender assembly. Size was similar to the DP, but kept the same angle for the license plate as the stock setup.

I did the lens polish today... Or at least tried. Mine wasn't as good as bp's, but it definitely improved it a lot.

When I'm working that hard with my fingers for a couple of hours, it's usually when I'm watching a movie, getting her ready for afterwards [emoji2]

nothing gets me through a chick flick the wife wants me to watch, better than a bit of sanding work that takes 90-120 minutes :D
