Is the ABS Panigale Worth it?

I was very surprised but with Geico there was no difference in my insurance price between ABS or Non-ABS bikes.

Simply put: YES! I came to a very quick need to stop the other night when I misread my stopping distance. I'm glad I had it.

I was in the same situation as you and ended up deciding it was worth it. Couple months later, it has saved my a** a few times now. Cold tires + commuting = totally worth it.

Probably more important as a trade in / re-sale factor as there may be a Ducati market trend for bike to come standard with ABS.

True that ABS is coming standard on more and more bikes all the time, but considering on the Panigale it costs $1000 more than the non-ABS model it's probably a wash from that perspective. A few years down the road I doubt if an ABS model is worth more than $1000 over a non-ABS model.

I'm sure not, just more likely to sell. 2 bikes on Ebay, one with, one without, the ABS will sell faster, that's all.

FYI, kinda odd, but ABS is standard on the Diavel. You ought to try the ABS, maybe not at highway speed at first, but at from like 30 mph trying to brake as hard as possible without the ABS being to violent. this will also train you not to just ham-fist or ham-foot the front and rear brakes, this will also teach you the feel of how much you can use of the rear brakes without them locking up. very similar to a MSF class. all part of getting to learn ALL the performance aspects of your bike.
