Is the fan on a relay or a ground interrupt?

I am trying to figure out if the fan is on a relay a la 1098/1198 or a ground interrupt from the ecu a la 999 series. What I'm attempting to do is add a manual override switch into the circuit so that while it can be triggered on at 217 by the ecu, I can also flip it on manually for expected slow downs and traffic etc.

The fan uses the same general ground as several other components. However, it looks like its driven from pin 1 of the BBS under the seat, thus the BBS looks like its acting as the relay.

The wiring diagram is a part of the owner's manual.

Thanks BP. I am away from home and my bike right now so I appreciate you looking that up. If this is part of the bbs it may be more complicated than I originally hoped.

I would think you could just tap in another switched +12V lead, but I don't know how much it would help. The airflow wouldn't mean much if the water pump wasn't flowing the coolant as is at idle.
