I flat out asked the dealer about it and they claimed it was an issue at Ducati and they would look into it. Over a year passed and nothing changed

I have nothing but great things to say about the techs at Ducati Newport Beach. I can’t say the same for the other dealerships here in San Diego
 
I think it depends on what type of work also. For engine building there's only a handful I would trust. For other jobs there's certainly many more people more than capable.

Personally I do it myself as no one will the time or care as much about my bike then me.

didnt want to take over the other guy's sale thread.

... wonder if it's just a luck thing w mechanics. I had something go wrong w v1 (not really a big deal, but I had to reorder the part and redo what I paid them to do).

also I'm still confused about the master tech issue.

Lol… the parts guy sold me a 520 master link and said it was same dimensions as 525…. Showed him the two side plates… “oh wow no idea…”
