Sadly its over now, storage Time for the bikes, going to wakeup the snowmobile cuz winter is coming fast, way too fast IMO!

First season owning a Ducati, really fell in love with the 1199S.

Also owning a 13 10R and 04 R1 (got it bran new in 04), I can tell you that no bikes puts a smile on my face like the Duc! Compared to the Japanese, you dont have to go crazy fast to have some thrills and fun on the 1199, you really feel like you are riding something special! I envy you guys that ride 12 months a year!!!

It's not quite a 12 month riding season here in N. GA. though we do have a few days even in Dec/Jan/Feb when it's warm enough to take a ride so I keep it charged and ready when nature co-operates to produce those rare days.

Consider myself lucky 8,000 miles ago back in Feb that I went into my local dealer to have my 748 worked on and that evening carried home instead the Pani now in my garage. Miles of Smiles....

its getting cold here too in nyc. i am getting ready to put my bike away too. problem is that nice day that comes along. my garage is expecting soon so come riding season next year i will have the amazing 1199s and its new brother the hp4 competition.

Here in Qc we can ride from mid april to the end of october. There is snow from the beginning of november to the mid april... This winter Will be very long! Ill play with my Polaris Rmk 800 assaut snowmobile, but its not as fun as riding sportbikes! I can see myself in Texas!

We can certainly ride all year here...but it does also get cold... but I guess thats a relative thing..:)

....come on mann.....i saw Mark419ny emblazoned across your leathers, while you wheelied down Houston Street........cops in pursuit !!....had to be you :)

-- if you live in NYC, you might enjoy going north thru yonkers to get to bear mtn.....much better roads than gwb to garden state......

-- also, you might think of danbury, and marcus dairy (now closed, with a panera bread/whole foods in a strip mall) if you want to meet or mingle with other riders - every sunday morning (warmer weather its early 7:30) (now the temps and sunrise has the times getting later and later)

-- it will keep you off Houston Street !!

I don't mind the cold, but the snow is kind of a pain in the ass. Still manage to ride at least once a month through the winter. :)

What is this mysterious power you call "cold"? Why does it move you to cower in fear of mounting your steed? I my experience cold is good for ponys and less trafficed roads. Just watch tire press/temp and make your enemy your subject!

Or just buy cold weather gear...

it never gets cold on a 1199 ...

Truth!!!

I was out this past weekend and it was a beautiful 48F outside... In full leathers, I was sweating while out riding.

I really should get that heat shield "service note" completed. :)

Pics (of you riding that Pani in balmy Roslyn on a January morning) or it didn't happen. ;)

EVERY single day of the year down here in OZ! :D :D :D I hate waiting for weekend to ride my bike let alone a whole winter!

I must agree with Phil - it never gets really cold on an 1199. This is the one time of the year where the heat flowing off the bike is welcomed. The Gold Wing guys tell me about their foot heater vents - they got nothin' on us!! Full lower body heaters standard (including seat warmer) on the Panigale - at no extra cost!!

It has been absolutely perfect here.

We are almost into our cold season below 40f, which were not even supposed to mention to cunuks because its so mild comparitively ;)

Sorry bud, hope spring comes fast for you

I always tread this time of year hoping to stretch the riding season just a few more weeks.
Luckily I live in an almost year around riding climate outside of November/December through February.
