My first one was first shipment as well no issue other than bleed the master cylinder .
Track Longevity ? When I first got this bike o be a race bike only I was warned by detractors that the bike was no good and destroy itself within a few race meetings .
My first bike has now done 2500 race Km with zero issues one of the other guys I race with also with a first shipment Panigale has now done over 4500 race km also zero issues .

I have a 2012 1199S (one of the first delivered in May 2012) and have currently just over 6'000km (due to the bad weather in central Europe).
So far no real problems! It smoked 2-3 times when starting. The dash fogged once but cleared itself. And sometimes it's hard to turn her back on when the engine is very hot. But these are no real issues in over a year of riding!

7700 miles.
1st issue: hot start problems, charcoal canister removed - done
2nd issue: some lost screws - no problem
3rd issue: getting the new heatshield installed, dealer detected a broken tab for the heatshield on the header (under the heat wrap) - will be replaced under warranty - no problem
to be honest, i an really surprised and pleased, with the bike being somewhat #2000 in production.

I couldn't be more pleased. No issues other than a blown fork seal that was covered under warrantee. 1,700 miles so far...
