That sucks. Where do you keep a chain and lock? My bike barely holds my Oakley's.

Sorry to see that. That really blows. I'm a firm believer of what goes around comes around though.

there are two cameras, so i thought i was safe, but the bike is in between the angle, as i just found out. damnit.

the lock goes perfectly around my slim waist... ;-)

let's see what roadside assistance says... the dealer reserved the new tire for me.

there are 2 things on my shopping list:

- shotgun
- mobile wifi camera

cheers!

Take the nail out and put in a tire plug. I caught a nail when I was on my 848 last year. Still had lots of tread on the tire. Pulled the nail out, put in a plug, took it to the drag track, worked just fine. 100% confident in the plugs. Seals right up.

won't use plugs...

Wow... I could not imagine leaving a $20K, 400lb motorcycle outside chained to a pole like that.. That chain and lock increases the overall time needed to pick it up and toss it in the back of a truck by about 15 seconds max.

I guess I'm a bit jaded after having 2 bikes jacked from me in the past.

Someone obviously has their eye on your bike. Get it inside...someplace safe.

Sorry to see this.

As for a plug, I'd maybe ride one on the road as a short term fix, but you never know if the nail has cut though any of the internal structure of the tyre, its not just a matter of plugging the hole. I would never ride a tyre with a plug on track. If I remember correctly 80mph is the max recommended speed with a plug. Being hit by a large chunk of rubber that parted company with your rear wheel travelling at 150mph+ is going to sting a little, not to mention the resulting off!

true...

sad, that the cameras are out of the angle, where the bike was. inside the building won't work because of fire regulations...

one guy had his duc stolen by two big guys a few years ago, threw it in the van and took off...

Did they put the nail in so that you wouldn't be able to ride it and have to leave it there. They could then come back and steal it their leisure when nobody is around. Would explain why they put the nail in and why its in a place where you're certain to see it. I'd be careful, someone might have designs on your bike.

Damn sorry to see that happen. That .... is f&*cked up big time. How much is a mobile camera. If imagine something with no wires and you just stick it to a wall and it links into a wifi connection? I think I need one of those too !!!

How much are they?

Back when I lived in an apts, I found a complex that had handicap accessable units. I told them my dad was in a wheelchair and comes to visit me quite often. Of course, my dad isn't in a wheelchair but the handicap accessible apts have a ramp that goes straight in the apt with a bigger door.

Used to drive my bike straight into the living room. Of course it's a fire code violation but, I never let them see me move the bike in and out of my apt. I changed the locks on the unit just incase they tried to come in to my unit unannounced.

Stayed in an apt for years with a bike sitting in my living room the entire time.

Phil , I'd rent a storage unit for the bike , before I left it out like that. Too many scum-bags in the world ! I think you can rent a unit for pretty cheap. You could set it up like a mini garage , with your tools rear stand and what not. Might be worth looking into.

frosty, not the youngest, but the hottest (when I get off the bike)

we got a storage place next to the company, but I wouldn't park it there either. kinda not the best area of greenville... I could push it in if I drained the tank every time before...

at home I have a garage and several effective security options...

my conclusion is: an angel shot me the nail in the tire to prevvent me being run over by a semi or an old lady again!

bouna notte...
