Paid msrp, 18k for base no abs out the door, taxes were paid when I registered the bike.

I didn't pay any of that but I helped the dealer out by buying $1,000 worth of gear and accessories at 10% off.

Were you a first time buyer or have you bought several models from the same dealer.

Go to Hattar in San Rafael. Pm me and I can tell you who to work with, etc. I'm happy to put in a call for you ahead of time as well.

IMO you made the right decision. Even if the bike of your dreams it still would suck to be overcharged.

first time buying a ducati from this dealership. i was from out of state so i didn't even pay sales tax on that day. buy a bike, get 10% off parts and accessories, i didn't even have to ask.

Update:

Was just quoted $895 for freight and $695 for setup by Dave at Ace (East San Francisco Bay dealer) on a Base non-ABS. Slightly different costs per item than Munroe, but exactly the same total.

This is madness. You'd think that the dealers in the Bay Area have gotten together and formed a cartel...

If this trend continues I may break down. I kinda want to ride... :eek:

Look out of state. You can have one shipped for less than those bogus fees.

Say if you are buying the base model.
$17,995 - base MSRP
$ 1,575 - 8.75% tax
$ 200 - dmv fee

$19,770 - OTD

That seems to be going rate all around so-cal. I have seen Beverly Hills Ducati advertise on craigslist, Fresno Ducati also advertised on craigslist, that leads me to think they have excess inventory.

Pro Italia just quoted me $595 for freight and $560 for setup. So not free my friend... At least not for me. :eek:

I'm heading in the right direction here though.

S at MSRP $0 for freight and for setup with $400 gift card to spend on any thing at the dealership 1,609 for tax and $65 for the DMV

You gotta go into the dealer. Most will not give you a lower quote over the phone. Saw another ad on craigslist, looks like Del Amo has whole grip of them in stock. Berts will like beat everyone's price by $100 or so.

When looking out of your area you need to consider time and gas to go pick it up. I know at this time Fresno only has S & S-ABS. They could find you a base if that is what you want. I am thinking of having them find me one.
