Knox Handroid gloves

Help Support Ducati Forum:

the handroid looks great i have a red pair. the protection is second to none however when i went with the crg levers the center that holds all those mechanical parts is very bulky and i like to clutch and or brake a certain way and these gloves don't allow me to do it. best gloves i ever wore are the held titan. if i don't wear them i would either get the alpine stars gp pro or the heroic gloves. i would not recommend these.

They had a Handroid rep at AMS? Was he selling them with any special discounts?
If you have the ability to grab a set NO DOUBT do so!! I love mine and as stated above they are wicked comfortable despite looking like Robo Cop gloves!

I have 3-4 sets of gloves and these are usually the ones I grab when going for a long ride due to comfort. Even with that special piece on the palm which slides upon impact they don't interfere with throttle hand placement etc. I give em 2 thumbs up for sure!

If you are seriously interested in a set of these PM me and I can assist no prob :)

BTW- I know the guys at AMS very well too. Jeff did some serious work on my old 900SS and Jordan tuned my 1198s Corse. Tell them and Marty I say hello.

Hey gunny which 900SS did you have. One of the old 70's classics or a newer one ? BTW those gloves look great. May get some when my Dainese full metal pro ones wear out.

It was a 1996 900SS/SP and I had the old BCM Motorsports from
Laconia, NH do all of the engine work to it which made it into a 944 kit bike.
The paintwork was none other than my friend Sean Lezotte of CCR and Im mad I can't find more photos of it.

That 2 valve bike pulled like a damn train and wheelied like mad with all the torque it had man! I sure miss it sometimes and winced when i heard some guy that ended up with it wrecked it and parted it out. Shame.

Has anyone seen these yet? Are they any good? There was a sales rep at AMS Dallas today with some, I tried them on wow were they comfy.....looked to be built really well. Look cool as .... to..

Yikes just found this when googling this glove on speedmoto forum or similar

Hi,

Knox Handroid Gloves - I crashed in them (low-side) the ringer finger Ce armour snapped and lacerated my ring finger from the base 2/3's up. Then it dug into my pinky so bad that my pinky had to be amputated.

The plastic plate on the back of glove causes discomfort on the knuckles.
I suppose it may depend on the shape of your hands.
I will usually switch gloves on track days anyway, but knuckles are sore the next day.
I still like them though cause they look so cool. I painted the cords silver to look like a "borg"

Interesting, I have the same issue with my Dainese Full Metal Pros. The cf bits on the knuckles don't line up with mine and cause soreness.

Can anyone compare the size of handroids to the Full Metal Pros please? I'd like to try them out.

It just so happens I bought both yesterday. I normally wear a large glove (driving, weight, winter, etc.) since my fingers are long and narrow, but took an XL in the Knox. Earlier in the day, my wife bought me the L Dainese Full Metal without me trying them on and they were too snug once she finally got them home despite comfortably wearing a pair of L Ducati Shadow which are Dainese also. My daily are the Ducati Flow in large and they fit perfectly. The racing gloves seem to be closer to European sizing which runs smaller.

You really need to match the plates and knuckles with your hand or else you will suffer like the other posts above. Unfortunately, they are like helmets and they have to fit you just right and not just go with brand or style regardless of the 'Borg' appeal.

Thanks ^^. So essentially, both gloves seem to be similar in size? If you were to line up the gloves on each other which is bigger and where? I have normal length fingers but large and wide palms.

Cheers

They are very close in terms of length, however the Knox are slightly more narrow in the fingers and in the palms. I would have imagined that the Dainese were a better fit for your hands. When I went to buy the Knox, the salesperson saw my narrow hands and suggested that the Dainese wouldn't fit nearly as well.

Ok gotcha. Thanks for the help.
