I just bought a 2013 1199 and i cant seem to access the ride mode screen or anything for that matter. anyone have suggestions that might help. or some trouble shooting tips

Yeah I agree definitely not much info so if the bike runs then rule out ecu so then the next question is does he even know what the buttons on the handlebars actually do. If that can't be figured out then even going as far as tearing off the fairings or working on the bike is a definite NO.

There's such a lack of information...how would you even begin to troubleshoot it.

Make sure everything is plugged in. Start here.

Trying to change between Race, Sport, and Wet? Or trying to change settings like engine braking etc?

Is there a battery (or, as the Brits say, a “bat-tree”)?

Is it working properly?

is it installed correctly?

Have you checked the fuses and the ground?

Do you have a key to this bike?

Is your ignition switch working correctly?

Slow up.

You need to follow the wire from the left controls to where it plugs into a main wire harness. Make sure everything is plugged in. If all of the controls on the left grip aren't working, start with the simple stuff. Make sure those controls are plugged in.

The bike otherwise starts as it should?

The bike runs fine yes I have keys. I will check all connections and fuses and let you all know what I've come up with

Hope everybody enjoyed their weekend and had a great Father's day. I know I did.
So down to business, I checked all fuses all good. The bike came to me with aftermarket start run stop buttons, for some strange reason the four wire plug that controls hi/lo beam turn signals ect. Had a plug on the end of it and tucked away behind everything, anyhow everything works now I have full access to the dash menu. I really want to thank all of you for your help and especially on how quickly I started receiving your input. If anybody knows where I can get the front and rear muffler hangers that would be great. I'm also looking for an inexpensive set of fairings. Once again thank you
