I tried to install both the new Lightech hand guards and the Rizoma R80 rear mirror. Goal was to be legal on the road without mickey mouse ears and having a bit of a race look. Without making the bike wider as it already was with Rizomas only installed.
My second adaptor seems to work pretty well. But I am very interested in your ideas!

This is great idea and I have actually been thinking about doing something similar. Good to see that it will work and looks really sharp in my opinion.

You are killing me with these modifications... that looks great.

I am, however, doing the 60mm mirrors instead of the 80. I had both on my Sporster and the 80 looked too big for my taste. Visibility with the 60mm is still outstanding.

The way you have integrated both is just a work of engineering art. Excellent work!

Gecko, am I going to have to put you on retainer?

I'll just hand over my bank account details and you take whatever you think is fair and send me new parts as you make them for yourself :)

Thanks! R60 are by far the best and most elegant rear mirrors! And the same mounting point as the R80 :)

But not allowed here
The mirror and rear reflector are the first things police checks where I live.

You're too kind:)
I think I'll change the shape a little bit again. What colour should they be anodized?

I knew that was the reason you went with 80mm!! Compliance with legal requirements in your country.

Still, a very elegant execution.

I'll check tomorrow where I can get some high quality aluminium that would fit best for easy "production". I made the prototypes out of scrap metal I found in my mess...

In my experience the only color that works for anodizing is black. There are just too many tints/shades (warmer/cooler, etc) of colors that never quite match up with reds looking like pinks, and blah blah blah, but black always "just works"

Great idea and he protype design looks like it works well! I'm just not a big fan of the round mirrors cause they seem more retro looking to me and don't fit the style of the Panigale. I went with the CRG arrow mirrors cause the style fits better in my opinion but you would have to make a different mount with a groove to integrate with the lever guards.

Looks great, I just took off my mirrors and put on the DP plates, so cool, Interested what the vision is like with those mirrors (can't be worse)and what are you doing with the indicators?

View with good (slightly magnifying and tinted) bar end mirrors is great! Really much better than with the OEM mirrors, and you don't have to make silly moves with your body while riding.

Indicator mounting: explained on "http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/18832-alternative-way-installing-front-direction-indicator.html"

Thanks ye now I remember, I have a base so i need to find a way.
Nice work!

Now that you write this comment, I suddenly have an idea and can't get it out of my head. I had a long discussion with VAST about placing indicators into the rear mirror and feasibility of production.

If there would be enough people that would like it, I could design and produce guards similar to the lightech ones, but with homolgated stripe leds integrated. rear mirror would be mounted as shown at the beginning of this thread. Wiring would go thru the handle bar.

Just curious as to why you need to run a guard on a street bike ?

There's no need at all! I just like the design itself (personal preference).
Coming from the "dirt bike fraction" I'm used to to these kind of guards (and they actually did a good job in the woods).
