I was tempted to use blue locktite while reassembling the brake lever and some other various parts.. But I noticed that originaly, it looks like Ducati has originaly used a red thread locker... Any thoughts?

I only use blue, but that's just me. I don't want to get anything so stuck that I need a torch to get it off since, knowing me, I'd scorch other stuff trying to get to the part that needs to be heated. :)

Rule of thumb, blue if you ever plan to take that bolt back off, red if it's permanent. Red you should use heat to get to release if you remove the fastener in the future.

Thanks.. Just found strange that Ducati used red and it wasen't hard to unbolt.. Wondering if they have the same color code in Europe. Anyhow I'm planning to use blue indeed. Cheers

Maybe it was purple? I don't see it used often, but it's weaker than blue.

There are different manufacturers of thread locking compounds.
They ultimately have different colours from Locktite.
You may be looking at a drytite that's only commercially available.
It is usually coloured differently.

IMO, Locktite is junk compared to Wurths and I only use Locktite in the event i don't have the good stuff.

As has been stated before.
Red for permanent fixture.
Blue for easier removal later.

i removed many bolts with red loctite with out heat, did my engine head cover re-torque and put a little red on each bolt

the blue is softer
