Waiting for my V4R to come in next month which will be used for Racing only... My dilemma!! I just checked pit bull and it says their rear stands will not work with Tire warmers?? What is everyone using for a rear stand for racing and track riding then? Also does the new V4 able to use the front pin lift stand or only the axle stands? Please someone point me in the right direction, Race season starts soon and I just can't find the best option.. Thanks for any help.. Scott Reynolds #23

We had this question before and I can use tire warmers with their single side rear stand. I use a swing arm spools most of the time at the track with a standard rear stand. I use their axle stand on the front. I have not tried the pin stand yet as the horn is in the way and I haven’t looked into taking it off.

Moto d stands

So I just went thru this with the final results. So motod front head lift stand you have to put the pin in first and bring the stand to the bike takes a little time. Not something you want to do track side putting warmers on and off. Scott from motod hooked me up with the front cradles that can be used in the lower half of the stand and pic the bike up at the bottom of the forks. Now there current single sided swing arm which I also have won't work with warmers. So I did order rear axle spool sliders and a motod rear stand with spool pic ups,but u have to modify it cause it needs to be longer to pic up the spools. I've provided feed back to Scott and they are working on updating there stands. Best customer service and best building stands for the price.

Pit Bull has a new stand for the V4. It might not quite be out yet so call them. I have the first one they made and I can tell you it works great with my warmers.

Awesome, I will be in touch with them tomorrow and see if they are available now for the masses.... What are you using for a front stand? Lift from bottom of forks or head pin stand? I'm really hoping someone has something that works for the head pin way, feels so much more stable while working on the bike... Thanks again for the information..

I use their life from the bottom stand. The Pit Bull stuff is the best on the market. I've used everything and had so many issues. So I tossed all my stands and bit the bullet and bought all Pit Bill stuff including four trailer restraints and pins for all my bikes. Never looked back since :D

If nobody knows anything ask for George when you call.

Please let us know what you need to pull off the bike to use the pin stand. I know you are race only and will be removing all of the street stuff anyways. I am just curious what is needed & the pin size.

This thread seems to have died just as an interesting question was asked. I was interested in knowing what has to be dismantled before a head lift stand can be used on the v4.

Last week I contacted Pit Bull about front (dual, fork and head lift) and rear stands for the v4. I was told they had sent a new pin for the head lift stand to a tester but had not received any response yet. So that tells me the v4 requires a special, as yet unavailable, pin in order to use the front stand as a head lift.

I want to be sure this is the right purchase. These stands are very expensive and freight cost to Aus is the cost of a third stand. Total for two stands shipped to Sydney is nearly USD$800 (AUD$1100). More if I add pins for a second bike.

the normal pitbull race stands are crazy heavy duty.. like they are far too heavy.. if anybody plans on a lot of track riding, warmers on/off, racing etc.., the stands see alot of action and the weight of them will get to you.. its a workout dragging the damn stands around as they were built to last 500 years.. .. got chucked in no time, we use the ones right from ducati., simple and lightweight.. (ps., the pitbull trailer restraints are AWESOME..!!)

ps, the head lift is terrible (not brand specific)., you'll have your race suit on, you'll be hot and then you'll be fumbling around trying to get the stupid pin between the fender and the fairing (theres no room) and then to line up the pin with the hole EXACTLY perfect in the blackness.. fk never again.. then when you want to remove it will stick in the bore and now you're fumbling around trying to remove the sticking pin so you can make the grid ontime.. haha.. omg i hated the thing..

Jr51, mate thanks for your response. You certainly contribute a perspective that I had not considered seeing as I haven't tracked in quite a while. I can see where light weight might be more important than bomb proof.

My setup. Works really well track side. Word of caution for anyone using rear Ducati performance stand. The bolt holding black plastic round piece can get loose as you spin the rear wheel and your bike can end up on its side. Put red loctite on it and never experience this. My detailer dropped my bike like this.

European riders would struggle to find better stands than Gee Tech.
Quality, hand made stands at very fair prices.
