Made the move: Panigale R to my new V4 SP

Long time watcher, occasional posting/reply. Was really hard to do, but sold the 2013 Panigale R to buy the new 2021 Panigale V4SP. Last SP I owned was the 1198SP (miss her too!).

So working on additions/dialing it in. Have several parts on (back)order, installed some, more to come.

Some CNC racing, Bonamici, Evotech, Ducati Performance etc. all going on and really excited about the Termingnoni Reparto Corse BSB Factory exhaust when it makes it in.

Given I haven't been following the V4 series as close, any further highly recommended parts? Will be out at the track with the V4SP soon...used the Panic the same way. Mostly track.

Congratulations! I'm loving mine. I'm interested to hear your thoughts about the suspension when you've had some track time on it. I've been talking with an Öhlins tech, and after some measuring we've decided to change the rear spring from the stock 85 N/mm to 105 N/mm, and 11 instead of 10,5 for the front fork. Will probably also do something with the oil to prevent bottoming out the forks, as the sag wasn't too bad with the stock springs. I weigh about 105 kg and the bike feels quite soft stock. Rear tires are wearing out really quickly.
 
That exhaust system going to have any heat issues. I see you will be riding on the track but was curious for everyday street riding.
 
I got #105 in May. I added Termi D184 Black slip-on and Upmap, radiator and oil cooler guards, rear exhaust CF heatshield, keyless gas cap, break level guard, alternator CF cover, tank pads, tail delete. There isn't much more you can do to this bike that will make significant gains.

That's my point, that duct doesn't look like it directs air at the caliper?

It depends what duct you’re talking about… as in made by who.

There are types that do direct air onto the caliper, WRS is one example.

Not sure I like the fact that they’re held by tie straps in the front but otherwise I like ‘em.

hmmmm, I don’t seem to see those on any of the WBSK,BSB,ASBK, or SSTK series bikes. I’m guessing the V4SP has some advanced brake tech that allows you to brake a lot harder and requires a lot of thermal dissipation. Interesting.

Valid point but they also have top spec brake components so they may not need the added cooling.

Its just another sales gimick like the wings will never be used for the street but the fan boy club and ducatistas will think they are getting something. The cooling ducts are used in SBK, BSB and GP to cool the calipers so the brake dust does not weld itself to the discs.
