I have a combination of both... everything bennith the exhaust loop is Matte everything else starting at the exhaust loop is gloss.. if flows well in my opinion. If it wasnt for the DP swing arm cover I got a hellova deal on I would opt for total Gloss I cant begin to describe how bad ... the carbon is direct sunlight.... Clear coating everyting is still on the table though.

Matte at ten feet looks like plastic, so I guess I just like the gloss, tho I don't go in for carbon in a big way.

Can't the entire carbon fiber fad run its course and we can get some new type of freaky polymer or composite? New textures or some new kind of paint. Something. ANYTHING.

I agree - I am new to CF with this bike, got along fine without it till now. Just textured plastic is all it is (other than wheels, etc.). It reminds me of mulch - cover up perfectly good dirt just because your neighbor did!

I like the earlier guy's comment - gloss is the new chrome.

Pretty soon you'll see an ultra glide classic with gloss carbon fiber and then all these glossers will change their tune.

Why don't they do us a favor and have the new best thing be design with flat angles and surfaces along with radar absorbing paint, such a the stealth fighter. Then I bet you all would go for that matte finish.

I prefer "dry" matte carbon due to its superior strength and weight when compared with shiny gel coated "wet" CF or its close cousin, "matte" CF. Dry prices make Wet look a bargain though. :)

DP CF is ridiculously priced, even for CF. I expected some kind of premium for DP but when compared with my car's "wet" CF parts, by name brand companies, they are far cheaper considering the size and complexity of some of the pieces.
