Bagnia gave an interview today stating the first testing day was a 'throw away' day due to the track not being run in. Not surprised Martin crashed, he's an aggressive dude and is always going to push to find the limit, but that was a huge get off. Rivola saying that they're looking at the Michelins as the data showed nothing strange with Martin's inputs or the bike's behavior up to that point. The bigger disappointment for me is DiGi having to go back for another surgery on the same shoulder, granted is the clavicle, but still a poor start for the only other guy on a full factory bike with a real chance of mixing it up with Bagnia and Marquez on the regular.

In other news, Mir is very happy with Honda's progress for a change...

The alps are like a midget version of the Rockies. Only 120 miles long. The Rockies are 3000 miles long and in Colorado like 300 miles wide. You have no idea what you’re missing … Do yourself a favor, ship a bike to the west coast and go for a ride.
Sir, even most Americans bikers would do well to take your advice. More than they will ever know.

It seem the other Aprillia guys did a lot of laps, Bez in particular, so hopefully they got enough data to be somewhat competitive when he's healthy.

Didn’t see the temps in Thailand (assume hot) so if Bez didn’t complain about the heat from the bike roasting him after that monster amount of laps then at least Aprillia solved that issue!

Good point. I noticed the aero adaptations on the new Aprilia fairing in this photo of Bezz. Look to the openings on either side of the upper portion of the windscreen.

I wonder if they somehow deflect some of the heat up over the riders' shoulders?
