I just booked my ticket for MotoGP in Austin this April.

Anyone else going?

It would be great to meetup with some fellow riders from the community!

I wanted to make it but too soon for me. Saving up to try and make Indy. Really want to take the Pani too but dunno if that'll be doable yet.

I will be the with the whole famn damily. We are all excited!!

What's everyone doing about hotels? Everything is booked up (sigh)

Me and the wife and some other Ducatista's... Oh and the Ducati Dallas folks are going too.

And COTA just gets worse.. Linky

It gets really hard to think of spending ticket money (and other money) with this track..

I just bought my Ducati Island Pass. Will have my bike too. Planning to ride and explore the Austin area Thursday through Sunday. Hope to meet some of you there.

COTA completely screwed Kevin Schwantz, IMHO. I had hotel reservations in place for the F1 race but canceled them once I learned what they did to him.

COTA will not get a dime of my money. Too bad, I was beginning to tire of Indy, and COTA seemed like a cool adventure.

schwatz's fans should start a shitstorm. that's what "social media" is good for.

maybe then these directive snoopholes realize what they're doing. banning him from the track pffft. they should call themselves lucky that he still went there....

did i just read that right?

Just buy a Ducati grandstand ticket... It's $215 and includes three days of parking in that Ducati bike parking area.

I'm going do you know when they are going to mail our tickets?

This is the answer I recevied from the Manager of Ticket Operations:

As a general reminder for all of our racing events please keep in mind that it is Circuit of the Americas policy to not send tickets until 3-5 weeks before event. With that said, tickets will be sent starting on March 27th through April 11th via FedEx 2-3 Day Priority International Mail.

I'd sure like to go since it's right here in Texas but I didn't plan far enough ahead for lodging.

Its still not impossible.... if you are OK staying a bit north or south of Austin, you should have no problem getting a room.

This is going to pull maybe a quarter the people of F1. During F1, I swear there were 200,000 Mexicans here. MotoGP isn't a big deal in Mexico and really isn't too big here in the US either.

I would come... it's close, it's super cheap (3 day GA is $89.. the ducati section is just $215 and includes parking for all three days) and finding a place to stay is really not gonna be as hard as you think..

Just stay away from downtown Austin... that will be a bit pricey and difficult to get.
