Seems many are still having IMU issues when using Motoholders or other fairing stays on your track bikes.

Here’s my fix and it works perfectly.

On my 16R, the IMU was mounted on the headlight. The angle it sits at with both wheels on the floor is 45 degrees.

First mod to do on the Motoholders is to chop their IMU mount off and toss it!!!

I’m not a metalworker nor do I have the tools. I just used a vise, dremel, and hammer. If anyone of you decide to make a pretty one of these, just send me one as thanks lol.

First thing I did was measure the angle of the instrument mount with both wheels on the ground. I measured an angle of 55 degrees. That meant that the IMU mount needed to angle 10 degrees forward to achieve the needed 45 degree angle.
So I cut up a quarter inch thick aluminum scrap plate and bent/hammered it into a V with a 10 degree angle. Before bending it, I shaped the plate into a Y so that the notch of the Y would clear the lower instrument mount. I drilled only one side of the ears to bolt onto the Motoholders instrument plate at first. This way I could set the IMU angle before drilling the last hole to bolt it up.

I drew a vertical line down the plate and drilled pilot holes where the IMU lined up. Then I drilled those two holes with a 1/2” bit. On the lower hole I drilled through the back for access to tighten the IMU down.

From the stock subframe, I took a couple of grommets and spacers that are used to bolt the license plate mount to the subframe.
Numbers 3 & 4.

These go through the 1/2” holes to dampen the IMU. The spacers have the collars/tubes that let you tighten the IMU down tight, but still let the rubber dampers do their job.

After bolting the IMU in place, fasten the assembly to the Motoholders instrument mount with the one drilled hole, be sure to hook up the IMU to the harness, then turn the power on and check the angle reading on your instruments. My garage floor is at a zero degree angle. As the bike came from Ducati, it read -2 degrees on my Pitbull stand. Depending how my bike settles on the stand, it now reads 0 or -1.
Once you have the angle correct, drill the other ear and bolt up to the Motoholders instrument plate.

This was tested at Thunderhill last October riding with another forum member. Worked perfectly.
Hope this helps y’all.

A for effort. I will be giving this a go my self. My seasons over though as I crashed out at cadwell park. UK. So it won’t get tested until March next year at the earliest. Plenty of time for upgrades though.

Hope you’re ok.

I looked on Motocorsa Italy’s site and couldn’t find that one Caldera linked?

That would def work , I made one too but never tried it.
Some times that plug to the dash vibrates and send a CAN error, I cable tie the loom so it constantly pushes into the dash.
The shop in Italy always has some good race stuff for Ducati . When you search it is M.Motocorse
Ride fast, cheers

I emailed the contact you provided and they (Subito?) said it was not in stock. Dang....

I know...maybe a msg sent to them? If it will help address the "error" issue....

fair enough, but after asking motoholder point blank if their upper mount fixed it and getting an answer that was not true, im a bit gun shy
