Link: MotoGP, Movistar cancella la festa per Yamaha

Rough translation, take words with grain of salt:

Sometimes, despite the victory there is nothing to celebrate . And 'what is happening to the Yamaha team in MotoGP, after having already put on board the headlines brands and teams expected on Sunday to find out who between Rossi and Lorenzo will win the drivers' championship. The triplet is served but things went very differently than expected.

The sponsor Movistar had already organized a big party for next Thursday, the best way to celebrate a great season, but decided to take a step back . The controversies that have affected the World Championship made him change his mind and cancel the party is a clear signal.

The storm has affected all the protagonists of the championship and the brand Movistar he was hit twice, both in the role of title sponsor of Yamaha team both as holds television rights for Spain's championship. The journalist Emilio Pérez de Rozas, in an article in El Periodico says that the communication officers of Movistar believe that their company's image has been damaged by the behavior of Rossi in the Malaysian GP and do not see even good eye on the position of Lorenzo as a team, which was put in a corner.

The Spanish brand has invested millions of Euros in sponsorship and TV rights and at the moment the investment is delivering results opposite to those expected . Movistar has a contract that binds to Yamaha for 2016, but are not excluded twists.

Only a few days ago Repsol sponsors the Honda factory team, he expressed his embarrassment after what happened last week, threatening even an exit from MotoGP.

The championship seems to have turned a house of cards and it took a breath louder than usual to put him at risk. How will manage the situation over the next few days will be critical to understand what will be his future.

What was a great season suddenly has turned very sour.:(

Rossi certainly made a mistake, but I think if most people were in the same situation they to would have reacted in some shape or fashion.

It wasn't like he didn't warn everyone in the press conference before the race.

Oh well there is World Superbike to follow next year.

I do not have any validation to that Movistar report, but I think that's what it is.

Rossi could not stand up for what he did and decides to lie to everybody, getting his fans unruly because he will not take responsibility for what he did.

I'm sure after Valencia / the Champhionship, he will apologize in one form or another (otherwise he will not be the people's champ), but he I think he is magnifying what others always thought of his "nice aggressiveness".

oh, and Marquez has been nothing but 100% truthful? Sector times say otherwise. Either the fastest rider in the world suddenly got slow as hell, after cranking out a few blistering laps with a full fuel load, hounding Pedrosa....or he slowed deliberately to .... with Rossi.

After "making a mistake" that allowed Lorenzo to easily pass, Marquez made zero effort to regain position. That's when his sector times show him slowing significantly. Bike problems? Well if his bike setup and fuel load was so problematic, how did he turn in such fast times the first 3 laps?

Anyone with a nose can smell ........ there.

What does it say about the championship overall when the guy leading the thing has the arguably the best battle of the year with a guy that's intentionally "slow as hell"? What did it say the race before when that guy managed to turn it on and win the thing?

Back half of this season has turned out similar to the time when Jordan was playing baseball.

This is bollocks! If Movistar have cancelled their party, it's only because they are saving for a bigger one. Controversy between riders is great for sponsors; it gets people animated and watching endless you tube replays of their corporate logos! You can't buy that sort of exposure.

MM did nothing against the rules. Rossi did. Your point is?

Yes I agree 100%. MM was playing a good show for everyone to see and enjoy :p...AND he was doing it within the rules of FIM, not breaking any....Rossi Did! simply unbecoming attitude of a 9x champ....sad though.

I didnt expect Rossi to do such a move like that infront of the whole world to see!
Marquez may have played dirty too but didnt break any rules..all his passes were clean...:D

If i were Rossi, i would just continue to battle MM ansd try to do a similar Assen trick on the last corner of the last lap...oh well...Valencia race this weekend will be exciting! I heard all Tickets to the Valencia GP are all sold out!!!

jlo should have kept his piehole shut...

Lorenzo hate runs deep.

During the individual backbrief today, Lorenzo apologizes and regrets for his "thumb down" behavior when Rossi was receiving the trophy to the people but NOT to Rossi himself... so he really did not apologizes.

What a ....

What does jorge put back into racing? Rossi has his riders training camp, the Sky VR46 team to bring along new talent, he entertains the hell out of the public, and he is loved like a Rock Star around the globe. When he hangs up his spurs there is going to be a BIG VOID in the Moto GP world. Iannone is the closest thing to a personality in the paddock after Rossi.
One of gorges sponsors is done with him at the end of this weekend, the Italian watch company Sector no longer wants to be associated with sour puss.

No such thing as bad publicity, I think Repsol, Movistar, Rossi and Marquez have stolen the GP show, no one talks about Ducati, Lorenzo is sort on the sidelines, Smith on how well he is doing on a lesser bike, could go on, but be honest will we be interested in Rossi v Lorenzo for the prize or Marquez v Rossi rematch, its not about the championship now and now everyone waits to see if they start kicking the .... out of each other, or isn't it going to suck this weekend if they dont? its whats missing from SBK
