Finally, my V4R managed more than one lap without breaking down!

The local dealer also recalibrated some ecu stuff, and we're running again.

So, the problem i had with the Ohlins standard equipment was really just adjusting it. Changing the fork springs was a two man job, and the preload adjuster for the shock was upgradable, but quite expensive. So, I decided I was going to upgrade.

I have Bitubo gas cartridge kit on my BMW, had K-Tech on my previous ZX10R. And I've had Ohlins on a previous BMW too. All very good, easy to adjust and easy to swap springs.

I decided on Mupo, as they offered the best advice on settings and setup.

So, got the CSP cartridge kit installed, and tried it out yesterday.

The feel with the new system was phenomenal, so confidence inspiring, such good, positive feedback. Where the K-Tech can be quite harsh and give too much feedback and information, and the Bitubo and Ohlins gas cartridges too vague/plush, the Mupo gives confidence inspiring feedback and smooths out smaller track imperfections. It really is far better than anything else.

Part of the reason, I think, is the cartridges use through-rod technology, which no-one else offers. K-Tech lease their through-rod forks to race teams, but I don't know anyone else who offers it. It's exceptional.

No, I don't work for Mupo, or have sponsorship!

do you have further information about the through rod design? or anybody? i only know that the rod goes through, not more.
probably, that increase the compression oil volume. but...?

I believe, it negates cavitation in the oil, which then means you don't need to pressurise the oil to stop cavitation. This allows control (damping) to be easier, thus giving better feel and control.

Yes, it works like a steering damper, they make really good suspension great quality

more oil=less (oil)speed=less cavitation
i think.
but how the oil flows, how the valves work...

Full on Super bike MUPO front and rear. Along with Ti steering damper. Incredible stuff right there!!! I had a full K-tech system last year at Road America AHRMA race. Could not have been happier with it. Then my teammate turned me onto MUPO. I was scarred like crazy to take a fully tuned, working K-Tech off my bike to go to MUPO. Well let me tell you. I should not have spent an second of time worrying. This stuff is the TOP SHELF!!! I would have never thought anything could be better than my past K-tech set up. I will be the 1st to say I was wrong!!!

"The through-rod system guarantees the reliability of a sealed or pressurized cartridge without any rebound disadvantage typical of gas-based systems.

In this product, the rod enters and exits the body of the cartridge, thus avoiding the cavitation problems typically found in other cartridges."

What settings did Mupo give you for the V4R?

I've just ordered a set of CSP-R for mine.

Where're you based? If you contact Dave Croft, the UK Mupo importer, he's got some good settings worth trying.

UK, thanks I will message him.

So it's been a while now so how are you finding the kit after this time?

I'm finding the kit really good. I probably wouldn't upgrade the shock from the standard Ohlins, but the deal for shock and cartridge kit was very good. The CSP cartridges are excellent though, great feel and adjustment.
I'm still struggling to find a great setup that suits me. Dave's been really helpful though.

Yeah I've just ordered a TTXGP for the rear as the standard job is a bit ..... Amazing considering the cost of these things

I'd have probably gone with the Bitubo shock personally, I had the TTXGP when it first came out and was a bit disappointed. But, I've never really liked Ohlins kit, so maybe just a personal thing.

That's fair, we have the gen 1 as oem, they are on gen 3 now.
